Attention Law & Order: SVU fans, Elliot Stabler is making a comeback.
It was just announced by Deadline that Christopher Meloni will be reprising his role as Elliot Stabler in an as of now untitled spinoff from producer Dick Wolf. The 13-episode series will revolve around the NYPD organized crime unit which is led by Stabler. Christopher Meloni spent 12 seasons on Law & Order: SVU as Stabler and when he left, we were sad. Hearing that he’s coming back to the SVU-verse in any capacity is amazing.
At this time we don’t have a lot of details about the new series but, we do know that it will take place in New York. As we all know, Law & Order: SVU also takes place in NYC. Stabler’s former partner of the SVU, Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) is now the Captain. Mariska and Christopher had great onscreen chemistry and we are hopeful that at some point a Benson-Stabler reunion will happen.
