When it comes to The Selection, I don’t want to feel played with. I have been anxiously awaiting for this book to come to life for years.
Because it is one of my favorites EVER.
For thirty-five girls, the Selection is the chance of a lifetime. The opportunity to escape the life laid out for them since birth. To be swept up in a world of glittering gowns and priceless jewels. To live in a palace and compete for the heart of gorgeous Prince Maxon.
But for America Singer, being Selected is a nightmare. It means turning her back on her secret love with Aspen, who is a caste below her. Leaving her home to enter a fierce competition for a crown she doesn’t want. Living in a palace that is constantly threatened by violent rebel attacks.
Then America meets Prince Maxon. Gradually, she starts to question all the plans she’s made for herself—and realizes that the life she’s always dreamed of may not compare to a future she never imagined.
And as we all know, we’ve been let down before. The CW has previously optioned the rights for TV, but they fell through.

Movie? Well that had fallen through previously also.
But Netflix, well they’ve been establishing themselves as a YA powerhouse and also, appreciating and staying true to source material. So we’re a little excited that the streaming service has picked it up.
Because these books are so good and need to have justice done to them.
Haifaa Al-Mansour (Netflix’s The Society) will be directing the film, with Denise DiNovi (Little Women) and Pouya Shahbazian (Love, Simon and Divergent films) producing, and Margaret French Isaac taking on executive producer duties.
“We are thrilled to be working with Netflix and bringing these beloved books to life for the extraordinarily loyal and passionate fan base,” producer Denise Di Novi said. “The author Kiera Cass has created a spellbinding fantasy whose message of empowerment and authenticity is more relevant today than ever.”
No further information or dates have been given. But we’re waiting on the edge of our seats for this one.
