Never Judge a Lady by Her Cover is Sarah MacLean’s THRILLING conclusion to the Rule of Scoundrels series. This book tells the love story of Georgiana and Duncan, but also reveals the identity of Chase the head of The Fallen Angel.
Despite being a reread for me – it felt like a brand new book due to all the delightful Easter eggs MacLean placed throughout the book! So many visitors from the past! Everything about this book was a DELIGHT!

As mentioned in my previous reviews, I’m reading all of Sarah MacLean’s novels in chronological order as part of the Summer of Sarah MacLean event. The event hosts are Kelly Gallucci (bookish.kelly, Instagram) and Dana Cuadrado (To All the Nerdy Girls, Instagram). They are doing a STELLAR job!! Truly this event and the weekly Instagram chats about the book are such a good distraction from life.
For more information about the event, you can look at my review of our first book, The Season. It’s not too late to join us! This is where I currently stand with my Summer of Sarah MacLean Bingo Card:

This book’s hero is newspaperman extraordinaire Duncan West. West has featured prominently in the Rule of Scoundrels series. I do believe we also caught a glimpse of him in the Love by Numbers series. He is a friend to the scoundrels in the previous books, and frequents The Fallen Angel regularly. But it turns out there was a lot we didn’t know about West.
Learning West’s past only makes him more intriguing and further proves that he is the man for Georgiana. He also has a rather interesting sister who I really hope we see again!
The first time I read this book I was in the dark on Georgiana, but not this time! We first met Georgiana in the Love by Numbers series, she the Duke of Leighton’s sister. She was also in both Ten Ways to Be Adored When Landing a Lord and Eleven Scandals to Start to Win a Duke’s Heart. Therefore, we know that Georgiana was ruined due to having a baby, Caroline, before even making her debut in society.
Well, it’s been nine years now and Georgiana has been a busy lady! She is reentering society in hopes of marrying a titled man. Georgiana hopes to give her daughter protection and choices in her future. She has the support of her brother and others, but her journey back into the ton will not be easy. Luckily, West has agreed to help sway the tide in her favor.
Georgiana is a very complex character and her past and the way she conducts herself very much compliments Duncan.
This book has so many elements that make it wonderful – Caroline, Georgiana’s daughter is another. She may be nine, but that girl has a mind of her own and fondness for cakes. LOVE HER.

It was also lovely to see the members of The Fallen Angel again and their wives. Yes! More Pippa!
It truly was the perfect ending to the series. I have been a little more vague than usual in this review as I really don’t want to unveil any spoilers. But trust me, YOU WILL LOVE IT.
I just know you will enjoy learning all the secrets of Georgina, Duncan and even Chase! But I must forewarn – this is one of those books that is tough to put down and I read it twice!
