Dune, based on Frank Herbert’s epic scifi series, has finally dropped its first trailer and we are all on it! Seriously, did you see how beautiful Oscar Isaac looked. I know a lot of you are all about the Timothée Chalamet life, who plays Paul Atreides, but I’d prefer Oscar over him any day of the week! Getting back on track, the trailer looked amazing and gave us goosebumps and plenty of questions we’d like answered.
1. How can Oscar Isaac look so damn good in that beard?
This is the one question many of you find yourselves asking. It’s to the point that you don’t care what his character, the Duke Leto Atreides, does on Arrakis as long as he continues to look that hot. And he does. Somehow, someway, totally through some magical means. Because everyone is roughing it on that planet. But nothing can contain or bring Oscar Isaac’s beauty down!

2. How big those sandworms actually are?
From reading the original book, I already knew that the sandworms of this world were huge. BUT I DIDN’T EXPECT THEM TO BE THIS BIG! How many stories are we talking here? Skyscraper territory? And how in the hell are Paul and Chani (or is that Paul and his mom) going to survive that behemoth? Hell, how can the Fremen, who are used to living on Arrakis, survive such a foe?

3. How did the Bene Gerrserit get Paul to do the gom jabbar test?
I don’t know about you, but I’m not putting my hand in a box that can cause immense pain like nothing you’ve experienced before. Even reading the book I was always in the camp of, “Fuck that shit.” And I’m curious to see how close Dune sticks to the book when it comes to the reason as to how/why Paul stuck his hand in that box. Cuz I wouldn’t do it for my mother, my future, or the Bene Gerrserit. Big ol’ nope.

4. How can Zendaya look so stunning in the middle of a wasteland?
The queer woman inside of me is going, “Oscar Isaac who? Because Zendaya is right there, people!” her character Chani is stuck in the middle of this spice wasteland and she still manages to look stunning? That’s some straight up witchcraft the likes of Oscar Isaac. Or maybe Zendaya is an unstoppable movement of beauty and grace no matter where she goes or who she plays.

5. How much sand was involved in the making of this movie?
Sand gets into places. All the places. So, we want to know how much sand was involved in this movie and where was it filmed? Also, will the stars of this movie have sand pouring out of them for weeks to come in the form of sand in their clothes, shoes, and more? And finally, we’d like to know whether Dune made them love the dry heat and sand or loathe it with the fire of a thousand suns?

Dune is set to release December 18, 2020 in theaters.
