In an effort to build a space for queer people like myself, every Tuesday I’ll be posting interviews, opinion pieces, listicals, reviews, and more focused on the LGBT community (and occasionally about the Latinx/WOC community since I am Latinx.) Welcome to Queerly Not Straight! Enjoy and leave a comment below if you have a suggestion for what I should cover next.
The Haunting of Bly Manor’s final moments ignited, or reignited for some people, our love for Sheryl Crow’s “I Shall Believe.” It fit perfectly with the story of Dani and Jamie and it made us feel like this love story was and continues to be something worth fighting for and remembering. In an effort to hit you in the feels and discover new music, here are 5 love songs dedicated to Dani and Jamie from The Haunting of Bly Manor!
1. “I Shall Believe” by Sheryl Crow
Come to me now
And lay your hands over me
Even if it’s a lie
Say it will be alright
And I shall believe
2. “You Got Me Thinking” by Joshua Radin
‘Cause you got me thinking I wanna take my wall down
I’d shed my disguise, and brace for the fall down
Into the sea of your eyes, everything’s starting to rise
But, darling, I’m sinking, ’cause you got me thinking
3. “Evermore” by Hollow Coves
The garden as our home
A place where we can grow
You’re planted in my soul
To nurture and to hold
4. “Speechless” by Dan + Shay
It started when you said hello
Just did something to me
And I’ve been in a daze
Ever since the day that we meet
You take the breath out of my lungs
Can’t even fight it
And all of the words out of my mouth without even trying
5. “Just You and I” by Tom Walker
‘Cause my darling, you and I could take over the world
One step at a time, just you and I (just you and I)
‘Cause you’re the only one who brings light just like the sun
One step at a time, just you and I (just you and I)
6. “Come Home” by OSKA
I’ll be up all night
Waiting under the lights
I’m not going to sleep
Until you’re here with me
The Haunting of Bly Manor is available on Netflix.
