In an effort to build a space for queer people like myself, every Tuesday I’ll be posting interviews, opinion pieces, listicals, reviews, and more focused on the LGBT community (and occasionally about the Latinx/WOC community since I am Latinx.) Welcome to Queerly Not Straight! Enjoy and leave a comment below if you have a suggestion for what I should cover next.
Happiest Season, the LGBTQ Christmas movie of your dreams, just dropped its first trailer and we can’t help but swoon all over the place. Abby and Harper, played by Kristen Stewart and Mackenzie Davis, are taking a trip to Harper’s family house for the holidays. The only hiccup is that Harper hasn’t told her family that she’s part of the LGBTQ community or that she’s dating Abby.
From what we can tell, this story runs deeper than an angst filled take on coming out stories. Because, while they are important to see, it’s equally as important to see LGBTQ couples as just couples. And that’s where Happiest Season delivers. There are cute smiles, loving kisses, and all the snuggling your heart can take. So, make sure to check out the trailer and join us in swooning over Harper and Abby!
1. The way they share morning kisses…
2. The way they laugh like goobers together….
3. The height difference though…
4. The way they awkwardly smile and still look like a couple…
5. The way they look at each other…
6. The way they gravitate towards each other…
7. The way they take on the world together…
8. The way they cuddle together…
