We grew up with Hannah Montana and a part of us ended when the show finished. Maybe, it was our childhood. Perhaps, we closed that chapter of our earliest childhood with her. That’s why this letter brings tears to our eyes. But it goes beyond that.
It’s no secret to anyone that Miley struggled to overcome the image of Hannah Montana because, if we grew up with her, Miley did too. She lived through incredibly good things but it was also very hard for her to grow up in the midst of the spotlight, the fame, the expectations … she was just a child in a world that she didn’t understand and that demanded too much of her.
So she fought to find herself beyond Hannah Montana and for the world to see her, Miley, not Hannah Montana. That’s one of the reasons this letter from Miley herself is so important. At last, she accepted this part of herself, so much so that she even celebrated this anniversary with a party whose theme centers on Hannah Montana. We’re so proud!
