The Wildcats take a small break from all things Beauty and the Beast to recharge during High School Musical: The Musical: The Series Season 2 Episode 9, “Spring Break.” Though, the Wildcats won’t much time to relax because North High is taking the week to do the opposite. North High’s using East High’s break as an opportunity to label them as lazy. Unsurprisingly, it seems as though this attempt to divide the Wildcats ends up being an opportunity for them to bond during their break.
Plus, Gina is stuck in an airport presumably trying to visit her mom during Spring Break. The promo video shows that EJ does face-time Gina to keep her company. As a Portwell fan, I will take any and all crumbs until they’re the real deal. Although, a cute boy with a familiar face might derail everything. Alternatively, he might be the one to put Gina on the right track.
Long-time Disney Channel fans will recognize this boy as Asher Angel from Andi Mack, a show that Sofia Wylie also starred on. This reunion is a meet-cute as seen in plenty of romantic comedies, so it’s sure to be fun no matter what happens. Though, I hope that the episode description is hinting that Gina changes her mind about EJ and realizes she has feelings for him.
Finally, Ricky reunites with his mother for the first time since their opening night run-in last season. This could be a huge step for Ricky, Lynne, and their relationship as mother and son. It also could be the respite that Ricky needs to allow himself to ask for help with all the changes he has encountered. I want nothing best for Ricky Bowen, and I hope that he gets the opportunity to heal a bit during “Spring Break.:
