NBC’s beloved comedy Brooklyn Nine-Nine is coming to an end this August 21, 2021 and we’re not ready. This show…no, this family, has become a part of us. It’s helped us when we’re down, depressed, or need a little pick me up. It’s also been there this past year due to the pandemic and our love of watching shows over and over. And NBC just reminded us of how short our time together will be in season 8 with a full trailer of the final season.
The Brooklyn Nine-Nine trailer promises to be “One Last Ride,” title of your sex tape. But it’s somber tone where Boyle is going over what he and Jake will be losing based on some event we haven’t watched yet, feels pointed and like the show is talking to us. Because, yes, who will we be after Brooklyn Nine-Nine? What memories are going to stay with us forever? And why is Boyle making Jake cry while wearing a fancy fur coat.
The rest of the gang is going through their own troubles that set the stage for the end. Jake and Amy are dealing with the woes of being parents. Holt accidentally sends a “digital phallus portrait. Rosa’s edibles are kicking in. The Nine-Nine is overrun by Hitchcock’s and Scully’s. And we’ll get to see some fan favorites return like Pimento, the Pontiac Bandit and our the Paris of People known as Gina.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine will be airing back-to-back episodes on Thursdays. So for 5 glorious weeks we get to live in this world for just a little bit longer. So, while we’re like Jake, dad and crying at what’s to come, we’re also happy to know this family and watch them grow over the years. In a way we’re all part of the Nine-Nine and if that isn’t beautiful then I don’t know what is.
