Sportsmaster and Tigress return with a surprising new agenda on Stargirl 2×04, “Summer School: Chapter Four.” The villainous power couple breaks out of prison and tries to find a safe place to lay low with the Whitmore-Dugan family. It appears as though they want to turn over a new leaf.
Neil Hopkins and Joy Osmanski are so charming as the former-ISA members, so it’s a thrill to have them back.
Rightfully so, Barbara is quite dubious about the couple because of, well, everything that they’ve ever done. Larry and Paula force Pat’s hand, though, by using Mike as leverage. This seems to be an ongoing trend of Season 2 since we know Cindy has her eye on the legacy hero as well.
Similarly, Cindy makes her move with Artemis just as she’s fighting to believe the lie her parents told her about their past. It wouldn’t be out of the left field for Cindy to use that vulnerability against Artemis so that she’ll be more inclined to join Cindy’s ISA.
As if that isn’t enough drama to fill an entire episode, Eclipso is still in Blue Valley, using Cindy for his personal gains. It’s nerve-racking to think The Shade will be the one to tell Court about Eclipso, not Pat. There’s no way that can end well.

THE DEVIL IN THE SHADOWS — As Pat considers whether he should come clean to Courtney about Eclipso’s past, a surprise visit from Crock and Paula catches him and Barbara off guard. A tense run-in with The Shade provides Courtney with some valuable information. Finally, Cindy makes her move. Amy Smart, Yvette Monreal, Cameron Gellman, Anjelika Washington and Trae Romano also star. Lea Thompson directed the episode written by Taylor Steitz.
