If you haven’t heard, which you probably have, Mj Rodriguez has won a Golden Globe for Pose. This makes her the first transgender woman to win such an award. And the importance of her win isn’t lost on anyone. Because this woman has been working hard for years, honing her craft, to get to the point where she is now. Her work on FX’s Pose tipped the scales and made for an unforgettable role that shone a spotlight on a much forgotten AIDS epidemic during the 80’s and the community who suffered through it all.
