What time is it? Summertime! Wildcats, school is not back in session because we’re headed to summer camp in HSMTMTS Season 3!
A new season means new series of regulars and new guest stars. Amongst those new cast members are three (!!!) Disney Channel alums. The latest update from Disney also confirms what music will be featured in Season 3!
The combination of cast members and music is a perfect way to pay homage to some of the network’s most beloved shows and DCOMs. It’s all very exciting, so let’s break it down.

We already knew that HSMTMTS Season 3 would relocate the Wildcats from East High’s halls to a summer camp. It felt like a perfect extension of Season 2 and where all the characters ended up. It’s also the best location for drama to heat up around a campfire!
That announcement instantly sparked a million wishes for the show to cover songs from DCOMs set during the summer. The Camp Rock and Teen Beach movies are just a few franchises the series could go with, and High School Musical 2 is the most obvious pick.
Now we know HSMTMTS Season 3’s will be Frozen, but the season will also feature music from Camp Rock and the HSM franchise! This show really is what dreams are made of, and we won’t hear any arguments otherwise.

Maybe we will see a couple (or two) sing HSM 2‘s “Gotta Go My Own Way” or Camp Rock 2‘s “Wouldn’t Change a Thing!” We can’t help but think of the possibilities. We could get the best of both worlds and hear both songs in Season 3.
The puns write themselves because Corbin Bleu of the HSM franchise and Jason Earles of Hannah Montana are coming to HSMTMTS. It’s surreal and wonderful and perfect. Not to mention, Matt Cornett‘s Zombies 3 co-star Meg Donnelly will make an appearance, too!
Bleu will guest star as himself, like his HSM guest star Lucas Grabeel did in Season 1. That’s two of the original HSM six! Earles will guest star as Dewey Wood, camp director of Camp Shallow Lake, who’s described as a “stone-faced killjoy.”

Donnelly will guest star as Val, a “confident and funny college student and longtime camper turned counselor-in-training, who is ready to choreograph the summer production of Frozen.”
Alongside those three, the series gains two series regulars: newcomer Adrian Lyles and Saylor Bell. Lyles will play Jet, Camp Shallow Lake’s mysterious new kid. Bell will portray Maddox, described as “a bright-eyed, quick-witted ‘techie’ who always follows the rules.”
They join the returning series regulars Joshua Bassett, Matt Cornett, Sofia Wylie, Julia Lester, Dara Reneé, Frankie Rodriguez, Kate Reinders, Olivia Rose Keegan, and Olivia Rodrigo. The Wildcats will have to work together to work this production of Frozen out.
