Stars In The House is hosting a telethon to help Ukraine, and like with everything that has to do with the war, we’re a little emotional. If it feels like it’s been a strange few weeks for us, and we’re far away, then we really have no words for the hell it’s been for the people directly affected. Most of us want to help. Most of us don’t really know how.
The event, which is set to take place March 26th, will benefit the International Rescue Committee and support those affected by the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Stars in the House started in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic after theaters across the world closed their curtains indefinitely. That’s when SiriusXM host Seth Rudetsky and his husband, producer James Wesley created their live-streamed series to support The Actors Fund and its services.
“For almost 90 years, the International Rescue Committee (IRC) has been responding to the world’s worst humanitarian crises. In Ukraine and Poland, IRC mobilized quickly to assist the vulnerable and displaced by war that privileges impunity and autocracy over accountability and self-determination. We are grateful to James, Seth, and everyone who will be joining this special 10-hour Stars in the House marathon to draw attention to the needs of those affected by the war in Ukraine, and to give audiences around the world a way to help.” David Miliband, President and CEO of IRC, said in a statement.
