The Lincoln Lawyer is coming to Netflix, and once you watch the trailer, we’re hoping you’ll be looking forward to binge watching it as much as we are. If you think that name sounds familiar, it’s because it is: The show, created by David E. Kelley, is based on the Mickey Haller books by Michael Connelly, specifically The Brass Verdict. And yes: those stories have had a movie adaptation before.
If, like us, you’re protective of the books you’ve read and are always a little nervous about TV adaptations, there’s no need to worry here: Connelly is credited as both an executive producer and a writer. So, if you’re a fan of Connelly’s books, are into legal dramas, and/or have seen the film by the same name starring Matthew McConaughey, this series might already have been on your radar. If not, we have some teasers for you, including a quick synopsis, all of which should combine to be your official notice to get interested.
“Mickey Haller (Manuel Garcia-Rulfo), an iconoclastic idealist, runs his law practice out of the back seat of his Lincoln, as he takes on cases big and small across the expansive city of Los Angeles.”
How does Manuel Garcia-Rulfo look as Mickey Haller? We’re going with “very good,” but see for yourself.
In addition to Garcia-Rulfo, The Lincoln Lawyer also stars Neve Campbell, Becki Newton, Jazz Raycole and Angus Sampson.
(So, obviously, as fans of horror’s most iconic Final Girl, we were immediately ready for this show the second we saw Campbell’s name on the cast list…)
