The Jonas Brothers have been around since 2007, blessing our ears with some of the best songs out there. However, when they announced their break-up back in 2013 (I’m looking at you Nick), our hearts broke. They, after all, brought joy to our childhood — a lot of joy — and we can’t deny that they were one of the most cherished boybands of the early 00s.
After a 6 year hiatus, the Jonas Brothers announced their comeback with a new single ‘Sucker’ and the album, ‘Happiness Begins’. They even have a documentary called ‘Chasing Happiness’ on Amazon Prime. Just a warning … you might need tissues for that one.
In conclusion, the brothers are back to doing what they do best and we couldn’t be happier. And what better way to celebrate than with some songs? These Jonas Brothers tunes will unleash your inner fangirl. From their old music and new sounds, we’ll be listening to these songs for eternity because: Once A Jonas Fan, Always A Jonas Fan.
Lovebug
The Jonas Brothers know how to make you feel like a lovestruck pre-teen/ teen with their love songs and Lovebug is one of them. Whether you were crushing on Nick, Joe or Kevin you were most likely daydreaming about them dedicating it to you.
Now I’m speechless
Over the edge, I’m just breathless
I never thought that I’d catch this lovebug again
Hopeless, head over heels in the moment
Play My Music
This is an underrated bop from Jonas Brothers sorry, Connect Three, because let’s face it most of us watched Camp Rock for them.
Music’s in my soul
I can hear it every day and every night
It’s the one thing on my mind
Music’s got control
And I’m never letting go, no, no
I just want to play my music
Tonight
The OG Jonas Brothers fans will have queued up with their tickets to see the 3D movie and singing along to their heart’s content. One of the best concert movies (you know I’m right).
We don’t have to fight, tonight
(Oh, oh, oh, oh) We just gotta try, tonight
We don’t have to fight, tonight
We just gotta try, tonight!
Take a Breath
It’s the song that you listen to on a bad day so thank you Kevin, Joe and Nick for teaching us to focus on our mental health. It is also criminally underrated.
People change and promises are broken.
Clouds can move and skies will be wide open.
Don’t forget to take a breath.
Hold On
This was the song where many of us fell in love with the Jonas Brothers and it was impossible not to. Their music was on our iPods playlists when we needed it.
When it falls apart
And you’re feeling lost
All your hope is gone
Don’t forget to hold on, hold on
Pushin’ Me Away
The underrated pop-rock gem from A Little Bit Longer. Jonas Brother’s pop-rock era clapped. We don’t talk about this enough.
Pushing me away
Every last word, every single thing you say
Pushing me away
Try to stop me now, but it’s already too late
Pushing me away
If you really don’t care, then say it to my face
Pushing me away
Much Better
Lines, Vines and Trying Times is one of the most underrated Jonas Brothers’ albums. It’s a subtle dig to your ex saying “I’m much better” even if you didn’t have a boyfriend or girlfriend you would sing this as loud as you can
I wanna fight with
You
Tear up the sky with
You
You’re much better
You
I wanna fight with
You
Make up tonight with
You
You’re much better
Only Human
This is a track that you can just bop to with some 80s music vibe with sultry lyrics. I’m very much enjoying the guys’ evolved sound and I can’t wait for more.
It’s only human, you know that it’s real
So why would you fight or try to deny the way that you feel?
Oh, babe, you can’t fool me, your body’s got other plans
So stop pretending you’re shy, just come on and
Dance, dance, dance, dance, oh
Sucker
Ah, 2019 – the song that made Jonas Brothers fans scream. New music and a new sound, it’s like they never left. I’ll always be a ‘Sucker’ for them.
I’m a sucker for you
You say the word and I’ll go anywhere blindly
I’m a sucker for you, yeah
Any road you take, you know that you’ll find me
I’m a sucker for all the subliminal things
No one knows about you (about you) about you (about you)
Burnin’ Up
It’s one of the most supreme songs from their discography. It’s the kind of song that you can’t not sing along to, this was peak Disney days (the best). Can we get another song featuring Big Rob rapping ASAP.
I’m slippin’ into the lava
And I’m tryna keep from goin’ under
Baby, who turned the temperature hotter?
‘Cause I’m burnin’ up, burnin’ up
For you baby
Rollercoaster
The song is a love letter to the fans who supported the band as they navigated life, fell in love, and started families. We really did grow up together as Jonas Brothers fans, and now we’ve all returned to seeing shows together back where we belong. Being a fan of the Jonas Brothers was certainly a ‘Rollercoaster’.
It was fun when we were young and now we’re older (Oh)
Those days around the world, they seem to glow now (Yeah)
We were up and down and barely made it over
But I’d go back and ride that roller coaster with you
Hestitate
This is a love song dedicated to Joe’s wife Sophie as a personal love letter and it is one that makes me a teary when I heard it during their Happiness Begins Tour.
I will take your pain
And put it on my heart
I won’t hesitate
Just tell me where to start
I thank the oceans for giving me you
You saved me once and now I’ll save you too
I won’t hesitate for you
S.O.S
It was the song that started it all so it had to be on this list, it brings so much joy and nostalgia. You will have found me singing this in my bedroom whilst looking at my Jonas Brothers posters. It’s a certified bop.
Ooh, this is an S.O.S
Don’t wanna second guess
This is the bottom line, it’s true
I gave my all for you
Now my heart’s in two
And I can’t find the other half
It’s like I’m walking on broken glass
Better believe I bled
It’s a call I’ll never get
When You Look Me In The Eyes
This is the most romantic song you may have heard from 2007, we all wished they were singing this to us. To say the least, this song is breathtaking. This song has it all from the emotive lyrics to the hypnotic way their voices harmonise so tenderly.
When you look me in the eyes,
I catch a glimpse of heaven
I find my paradise
When you look me in the eyes
Paranoid
As I said before, Lines Vines and Trying Times didn’t get the hype it deserved. It had so many catchy songs and it was also the album I also bought when going to my first Jonas Brothers concert.
I don’t know how to act
‘Cause I lost my head
Oh I must be paranoid
I never thought it would come to this
I’m paranoid
We have to include their cover of Shania Twain’s I’m Gonna Getcha Good too. It’s just that good!
We all had that Jonas Brothers phase, but actually… it was never just a phase. What are your favorite Jonas Brothers songs? Are you happy they are back together and creating more music? Share with us in the comments below!
