We’re really sad about this one, okay? Deadline reports that Prime Video has decided to cancel The Wilds after two seasons, meaning we won’t get a proper ending to a story that concluded Season 2 with a pretty brutal cliffhanger. And though we know this happens every day, it’s part of the business and so on, that doesn’t mean we aren’t devasted. Because there was just so much more story to tell, okay? So much more.
For Shoni, and who they could grow to be together. For Fatin and Leah, who were just getting started, who we barely got a glimpse of. For Marta, who deserved to unpack her trauma. For Rachel, who will never know her sister is still alive. For Nora, who we will never get to understand. And yes, even for the boys, who never worked as well as the girls, but who still had promise now that they were finally going to share a storyline with them.
So, yeah, this one hurts. It really, really does. And though last-minute renewals are a dime a dozen, can someone give us like …a movie? A book? We need answers. What happens next? What?
The Wilds starred Rachel Griffiths, David Sullivan, Troy Winbush, Sophia Ali, Sarah Pidgeon, Jenna Clause, Erana James, Mia Healey, Helena Howard, Reign Edwards and Shannon Berry, as well as Zack Calderon, Aidan Laprete, Nicholas Coombe, Charles Alexander, Miles Gutierrez-Riley, Reed Shannon, Tanner Ray Rook and Alex Fitzalan.
The first two seasons of The Wilds are available to stream on Prime Video.
