Ruben Östlund‘s Triangle of Sadness sees a group of wealthy folks getting taken down a notch after their luxury cruise sinks and they are trapped on an island. Billed as a comedy, it follows a celebrity model couple, Carl (Harris Dickinson) and Yaya (Charlbi Dean). They’ve been invited on a cruise for the uber-rich helmed by an unhinged boat captain played by Woody Harrelson.
From what we see in the official trailer for the movie, the uber-rich are unhinged, weird, and so self-involved that they can’t see beyond their own hand. It all takes a turn when many of the wealthy throw up (copious amounts) of everything before the luxury cruise starts taking on water. Eventually, everyone in Triangle of Sadness ends up on an island, fighting for survival and testing the lengths these people will go.
