She-Hulk: Attorney at Law 1×06 leaves much to be desired this week. No, I’m not talking about the disappearance of Daredevil, we’ll just have to wait for that. But for a filler episode, it did a lot to set up the main villain of this Marvel series. I know I’ve been saying that the world overall is the villain, but there is actually an underlying plot we have yet to truly develop. So when I say “desired” I really mean I now have a thousand questions I need answered right now. So, let’s get into it and see if we can answer them, shall we?
PARTY CRASHER

With only nine episodes, it should’ve been obvious that one would be a filler episode. With She-Hulk: Attorney at Law 1×06, we’ve finally reached that filler point (and now only three episodes left!) So, Jen gets invited to a wedding as a bridesmaid for someone she hasn’t even spoken to in years. To finally be able to prove that she has her life together, she goes. With a hot body like She-Hulk’s who wouldn’t want to show it off at a wedding? But “Just Jen” takes this Marvel hero back to the basics when the bride confesses that she doesn’t want to be upstaged. So here we are yet again, with Jen in clothes that are way too big for her and with someone belittling her. Can we just give Jen, normal Jen the love she deserves?
Titania, Jen’s #1 hater is crashing the wedding in an attempt to get back at her for last week’s case. Despite the fact that the majority of their fighting has been superficial, is it bad to say that seeing them fight was actually kind of refreshing? Especially to see Titania get her teeth literally knocked out of her. It’s hard to stand looking at entitled people and seeing Titania is really aggravating. It just means that the Marvel casting directors and writers are really good at bringing villains to life. Now that Titania is more of a threat to Jen, there’s potential for more fist fights in the future. There’s no doubt that she’s teamed up with the shady group who wants Jen’s blood and that’s how she got her super strength. If they change Jen’s origins, they can change Titania’s
MR. IMMORTAL STRIKES AGAIN

This week on “Super People Use Their Powers to Be Trash,” we now welcome Mr. Immortal! Mallory and Nikki are on the case now that Jen has to attend Lulu’s wedding. Boy, is this case more ridiculous than the wedding itself. With his eight spouses, Mr. Immortal comes in to deal with a lawsuit, hoping Mallory and Nikki will understand him. Fortunately, they call him out on his BS, but quite frankly, if I could fake my death to get out of uncomfortable situations I would.
The standout star this week is Nikki. Nikki’s ability to finesse anything is impeccable. She impressed Mallory by coming up with 8 different but fair ways of reconciliation for each of the spouses. Torturing Mr. Immortal is just the cherry on top. Yet again, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law 1×06 provides us with a man who is over the top, won’t understand either of the women in the room, and is okay feeling like whatever he does is right. If there’s one thing that remains consistent in the series, it’s the messaging. It’s comedic that Mr. Immortal uses his spouses to benefit himself and then is literally dying to get out of the marriage. But also, he’s just using someone else for his gain. He’s tone-deaf and doesn’t understand anything until Mallory and Nikki give him an education. That’s what the show is about, giving its audience an education wrapped in a comedy-action-romance 30-minute sitcom. Truly a first for Marvel.
FEELING THE HATE

Based on the “previously on” that was released last night, it was clear that we were going to revisit the crew that tried to steal Jen’s blood. Who is going after her? How would they use her powers for their own gain? Is it even worth it because the last time someone did that, they got arrested and needed seven soulmates to get through it? Let’s just say despite the fact that Jen has historically flaunted her powers, it probably was never a good idea to go public like that. It’s the same reason why you don’t leave your precious belongings out in public, it makes you a target. What will Jen do now that she is a target? Is this what makes her call in Daredevil?
Jen’s too busy flirting to even notice Nikki spilling the tea on Intelligencia. Which, in my opinion, sounds like the same guys who paired up with the Riddler to take down RPattz’s Batman. She-Hulk: Attorney at Law 1×06 turned the pressure up by showing that the hate spread far beyond the “we can’t have a female Hulk crowd.” Now there are death threats involved, and Jen is a bigger target. It’s a sad truth but not surprising. Women in power often receive death threats just for existing. It’ll be interesting to see how the show continues to handle this. How can She-Hulk become a symbol of protection for the Marvel Cinematic Universe and beyond?
Pre Credit Thought
Maybe it’s my lack of trust in people but there’s no way in hell Josh is innocent of anything. He’s definitely in cahoots with the scary science death-threaty people.
