Stargirl 3×07, “Frenemies – Chapter Seven: Infinity Inc. Part One,” brings Jennie and The Shade back as the season’s most-anticipated arc begins. While Jonathan Cake reprised his role as The Shade earlier in Season 3, Ysa Penarejo hasn’t returned as Jennie since Season 2. So, Stargirl brings Jennie-Lynn Hayden’s quest to find her brother to the forefront as Mister Bones starts to step out from the shadows.
Decider shared a clip that confirms that Jennie’s brother Todd Rice when Stargirl flashes back to his arrival at the Helix Institute. Additionally, Stargirl confirmed Tim Gabriel’s arrival in the role before Season 3 began. The show featured The Helix Institute for Youth Rehabilitation in Season 2 when Pat and Courtney spoke to Nurse Love there when looking for Jennie.
Nurse Love is the person who passed on information about Jennie, her friends, and Blue Valley to Mr. Bones, leading to his further intrigue with the small town. So, this two-episode event builds on the foundation that Season 2 built. The return of The Shade also bodes well for the arc, considering Todd’s powers in the comics are similar to The Shade’s shadow abilities.
The series has yet to use Jennie’s superhero name of Jade, but Stargirl 3×07, “Frenemies – Chapter Seven: Infinity Inc. Part One,” could be the perfect opportunity because Todd also has a superhero name — Obsidian. Regardless, there are plenty of details to pinpoint before the episode airs, like Beth and Rick teaming up. Because Beth discovers the cameras and Rick antagonizes them, there’s a great chance Hournite is Mr. Bones’ target.
No matter how it all shakes out in the end, Stargirl 3×07, “Frenemies – Chapter Seven: Infinity Inc. Part One,” is sure to end with a cliffhanger that leaves fans wishing they could fast-forward to the second part of the two-episode event.
