Well, we’re definitely not wanting to be a spy or work for the CIA, like ever, after watching the first season of The Recruit. Why? Well there are way too many brushes with death and well, we really appreciate our life. We’re way too cute to die and we’re way too out of shape to have to do that much cardio.
Also, like if we’re gonna be doing anything, it’s gonna be like behind a desk. Like we could totally community manage the CIA’s socials. That we could do.
Ok – so the whole city is reeling over Xanders death. Owen is pretty positive her saw Hannah, but Max is like I hope not. And well, we’re gonna give her that because Hannah should not be there. She should be at home.
Lester though, he’s jumped into protect mode. Always protect the agency. He immediately heads to the hotel room to get all of Owen and Max’s things. He needs to clean the scene.
Violet is a little (a lot) freaked out, but she’s sooo judgemental. She’s never really been in the field, I guess. Either way girl needs to learn to be kinder. Cause she’s just too high strung. This episode we do get to see though that she really does love and care for Lester.
Everyone is really worried about what is happening cause Owen and Max have disappeared. A CIA agent is dead. Nyland, Amelia, Lester, Violet and Dawn are all on this call with their boss (who is played by Nathan Fillion and well you know that we’re not a big fan of him, so whatever). Boss dude can’t stop yelling and reacting on fear. We get it, he wants to cover shit up and like that’s fine.
We would too.
But Dawn, well she’s got other ideas. She needs this op to go through.
We know that she’s been shady and that she’s up to something, but what? Well we know from Max, it’s that she’s stealing money. When money? The money that’s been sent for the assets. She’s skimming off the top.
So Dawn says that they probably went dark to protect the asset (Max). We all know that Max is the last person that needs protection. She’s gonna kick your ass with her bad bangs and her bad tattoos. (We said what we said).
But for Owen – this is a lot. He’s having to go dark AND someone throwing our phone out a window? Look, we’re really trying to be understanding and filled with love for this job, but Max legit threw Owen’s phone out a window! Yes, we’re harping, because well, as we write this, we admit, we may have had one too many. Someone spiked the egg nog.
They steal a phone from a NUN. We’re really testing God here. But she makes her call, and then Owen makes his. Only his she doesn’t know about and it’s to Janus. He tells him about the book he has and how he thinks it’s info on the Russian mob.
Janus is like dude, don’t want to know your shit. But he realizes that this may help them out of their problem with the missiles. He tells the OPS team that they need to find these pages and while they are there, destroy the nukes. The OPs guy he’s talking to is a dumb fuck, who only seems to understand the word mission – but hey – if it gets Janus and Owen out of the situation, all good.
Hannah and Terrence were really scared and don’t know what to do. They end up going to the embassy and want to talk to people about what is happening with Owen. What they don’t get is that Violet is walking into the room and she hates Owen. She’s gonna take them to town to see what they know.
Hannah doesn’t get what is happening and why they are asking what they are. She’s over it all and Violet tells them to go home. It’s sound advice.
Especially because everything is going wrong there.
Lester has taken on the CO role and Violet is not thrilled. She’s not in on everything and she knows that this is going to change Lester.
But back to Owen and Max. They make it to where Dawn’s team is and get treated like hostiles. Owen is not happy with the situation (they’re rough with him). Max tells Dawn that she had given the pics of Xander having an affair to the man whose wife it was and that’s what happens.
This leads everything to go forward. Max is going to buy her way back into the mob. She hands over seven million like it’s nothing. We’d start a new life somewhere for that kinda cash. It’s not like dude or anyone will ever believe her.
Come on now. Max has a history of being untrustworthy. That shit hasn’t changed. So is anyone shocked that this meet isn’t going the way it should? Anyone?
Bueller? Bueller?
What we are shocked about is that Owen sees a bunch of people heading towards the meeting place and he’s like ok, let me go towards the fight. OWEN, you’re a lawyer, not a navy seal. BUT, we’ll say this – he tries. He tries and he does protect Max, but we’re asking at what cost.
Owen was never supposed to get emotionally involved in any of this. He was supposed to assess a situation and get out. But here we are, him in shock and escaping the shoot out with Max, having a panic attack in the back seat of the car.
As we’re heading into another thing we never thought that Owen would do, he throws himself out of the back seat with the moving car. FINALLY he tells Max off, and tells her that he thought he could fix her, but no one can. She’s pissed. She’s hurt. She’s upset. But is there a part of me that thinks that hey, she may be a good person?
A little. She couldn’t shoot Owen, but it doesn’t mean that she doesn’t want him to suffer. She tells Dawn that he is a problem. Effectively Max may not have been able to pull a trigger, but she was gonna make sure that someone else could.
Owen though, what is happening with him? He’s called Hannah – as he does – and he’s asking for her forgiveness (in so many words). She tells him that she’s where he is and we have to admit we were excited for them to see each other.
That is until he gets kidnapped in front of her.
What the fuck is happening? We have no idea. We know that Max is behind everything. She’s like walking chaos and bad luck from hell. She’s gotten herself and Owen kidnapped.
The biggest shocker? The person who has kidnapped them? Max’s daughter.
What a CLIFFHANGER!
