Ted and the AFC Richmond family are back in the first teaser trailer for Ted Lasso Season 3, premiering on Apple TV+ next month. The video finds a fitting release date on Valentine’s Day after Ted Lasso 2×05, “Rainbow,” paid homage to romantic comedies.
The streaming service announced that the show’s highly-anticipated 12-episode season would debut on Wednesday, March 15, with new episodes released weekly. Fans have patiently waited for the third season since Season 2 concluded with Ted Lasso 2×12, “Inverting the Pyramid of Success,” in October 2021.
Apple TV+ announced a Spring premiere date for the beloved series in January. The streaming service also unveiled a first-look image of the titular character, Rupert Mannion, and Nathan Shelley coming face to face for what could be the first time after Nate burned bridges and destroyed Ted’s iconic “Believe” sign on his way out of AFC Richmond.

Despite Ted’s smile in the photo, that interaction looks tense. So the teaser trailer takes a different route, embracing the hope at Ted Lasso‘s core.
The video features Brett Goldstein‘s Roy Kent, Phil Dunster‘s Jamie Tartt, Hannah Waddingham‘s Rebecca Welton, Juno Temple‘s Keeley Jones, Toheeb Jimoh‘s Sam Obisanya, Kola Bokinni‘s Isaac McAdoo, Cristo Fernández‘s Dani Rojas, and Jeremy Swift‘s Leslie Higgins making perfectly in-character “Believe” signs to replace the one they lost.
Only Ted Lasso‘s cast could make such a seemingly small gesture land in such an emotional way. That “Believe” sign means something to those characters, and their unique recreations of Ted’s sign reaffirm that. As Ted tells Beard, “Well, if seeing is believing, I believe we’ve been seen.” That sign and what it stands for matter, even or especially for the fans who watch the show. Why else would Nate destroy it on his way out?

While fans have to wait a bit longer to see footage from Season 3, the hopeful message embedded in this teaser trailer is enough to appreciate until then. After all, it’s impactful to see the team emerge from a dark season still believing in believe, and they’ll need to keep that momentum to face what’s waiting for them in the third season.
Per Apple TV+, “the newly-promoted AFC Richmond faces ridicule as media predictions widely peg them as last in the Premier League and Nate, now hailed as the “wonder kid” has gone to work for Rupert at West Ham United. In the wake of Nate’s contentious departure from Richmond, Roy Kent steps up as assistant coach, alongside Beard.”
“Meanwhile, while Ted deals with pressures at work, he continues to wrestle with his own personal issues back home, Rebecca is focused on defeating Rupert and Keeley navigates being the boss of her own PR agency. Things seem to be falling apart both on and off the pitch, but Team Lasso is set to give it their best shot anyway.”
