Few trailers can capture the essence of their show in under two minutes with minimal dialogue and The Rolling Stones’ “You Can’t Always Get You Want,” but Ted Lasso can — and does — with its Season 3 trailer. It has been less than two weeks since Apple TV+ gifted fans a Valentine’s Day present of the Ted Lasso Season 3 teaser trailer that reminded everyone to believe in BELIEVE.
Now, the streaming service has revealed a closer look at what Richmond fans can expect when the award-winning series returns on Wednesday, March 15.
With The Rolling Stones track, the trailer calls back to Ted Lasso 2×05, “Rainbow,” and its excellent use of “She’s a Rainbow.” It’s hard to beat Roy Kent running — on his bad knee — to Nelson Road. This song captures the nervous excitement of seeing AFC Richmond prove themselves in the Premier League after being promoted in the Season 2 finale.

The team appears to be a cohesive group in the new footage, singing along with Hannah Waddingham‘s Rebecca Welton (!!!) on the Greyhounds’ bus (!!!) and eating together at what could be Sam Obisanya’s Nigerian restaurant he planned to open.
Mostly, however, the song fits the Nate of it all. He finally gets that window seat at the restaurant. But at what cost? He’s all alone! Everything at West Ham United looks dark and rigid compared to AFC Richmond, which likely has much to do with Nate’s new attitude and Rupert Mannion at the helm of that ship.
Still, Ted and AFC Richmond’s optimism and hope shine through, especially in the shot of Ted, Beard, and Henry supporting Nate during a game.

Meanwhile, Higgins, Rebecca, and Keeley are still in their resident seats at Nelson Road, cheering on the Greyhounds. As for RoyKeeley, the only shot of the fan-favorite couple appears to be in the childhood room of Jamie Tartt — one of Ted Lasso‘s aces.
Whether it’s the football-themed hoodie on the back of the door and the football-themed bed sheets or the certificate and diplomas with his name on them, Ted Lasso teases that Roy and Keeley will be going home with Jamie at some point in Season 3. Could this mean the show will finally introduce Jamie’s mother after a few nasty run-ins with Jamie’s father?
Perhaps Jamie visits his mom during an away game. The trailer shows a few glimpses of a Manchester City match, and unsurprisingly, their fans don’t receive Jamie well. Either way, it seems like Jamie maintains his amends with the people who matter — his AFC Richmond family — joining in with the team’s chant of Sam’s words, “I love you guys so very much,” at the end of the trailer.

Another noteworthy detail in that scene is the Captain’s armband on Sam’s arm. Could this mean Isaac will pass the baton to Sam during the upcoming season? Anything’s possible! After all, the trailer ends with Roy Kent saying, “Great job,” and Beard passing out because of it — as he should! It’s a big deal!
The literal and figurative TedBecca crumbs are also a big deal. It never gets old to see Rebecca smiling at Ted during a press conference or Ted and Rebecca sharing a moment during Biscuits with the Boss. Thankfully, there are only a few more weeks until Ted Lasso returns to deliver those scenes in full and so much more.
Until then, we’re Richmond ’til we die!
