We love books. Currently sitting here, staring at the books on the shelves and realizing that most of them have the same thing in common. What is that? We fell in love with not only the synopsis but the cover.
Covers are the first look that we get at a story. It’s a part of art that draws you into the beauty of the book. Every bit of it is examined and analyzed – because it is art.
When the cover for As Long As You Love Me by Marianna Leal landed in our inbox, we couldn’t help but smile and be drawn to the use of color and art.
See the cover below:

Now that you’ve seen the cover, are you intrigued? We are. And if you read the opening, you´ll probably be even more intrigued. So, here it is!

I cleared my throat and took a deep breath to say, “And now the most important parts. There will be no PDA, definitely nothing beyond that, or any situations where I can possibly be humiliated. I’m not here to be your Fifty Shades of toy if that’s what you had in mind.”
His mug slipped in his grip, but once he’d recovered from the initial shock he started cackling like a hyena. It was early enough in the office that most people were still sleepy, and not chatting or on conference calls, which meant his obnoxious laughter rang all through the office. But I didn’t want to catch anyone’s attention, so I jumped forward and put my hands over his mouth.
Which naturally made the damn mug tilt and pour coffee all over me. The hot liquid seeped through the front of my blouse faster than I could react. An inhuman sound came from both of us.
Me, I could understand. I was the one with a stinging burn and soiled blouse. Gabe put the mug aside and, in his haste to prevent the blouse from sticking to my skin and worsening the burn, he tore the would-be contract from my hands and stuck it right down the collar of my shirt. We stared at each other, breaths ragged and eyes wide.
“Tell me you’re okay so I can start laughing,” he said in a whisper.
How can rivals and opposites seem like they’re meant to be?
Catalina Diaz Solis needs just a few things to achieve her dream: her student visa, a full-time job, and to get Gabriel Cabrera out of her head. Since leaving Venezuela after her brother was killed in a political protest, Cata has been working to finish her Engineering degree, and now she’s in line for a full-time job that will allow her to stay in the United States. A major wrinkle in her plans is Gabe, the campus babe. He’s always in Cata’s way, competing for top grades and poised to take the job at their internship.
Gabe seems to have it all; he succeeds without trying and is extremely good-looking. It makes hardworking Cata endlessly frustrated. But when Gabe needs a plus-one for his brother’s wedding, he strikes a deal: Cata will be his fake date, and he’ll step out of the running for the job she desperately needs. As they attend events together, Cata discovers there’s more to her nemesis than she ever imagined. It’s all fun and games until Cata’s visa renewal is rejected, and Gabe complicates things with a new proposal that might either solve all her problems or destroy her dreams. Cata will have to put everything on the line to follow her heart.
