9-1-1: Lone Star gave us a double episode and two hour finale to end the season. And these two hours were all over the place. We were happy about Carlos and TK, then we were sad, and then happy again. We were so upset over Wyatt and the news thet he got from the doctors and Judd. And the ending devastated us. So let’s talk about our feelings in “Best of Men” and “In Sickness and In Health”

The Death of Gabriel Reyes
We were so excited about TK and Carlos’ wedding, but we had a feeling it wasn’t going to be all sunshine and roses. But we definitely didn’t see what was coming. And we’re so mad that the writers killed off Gabriel. Carlos’ dad was murdered right before his wedding! Come on! How heartless do you have to be?
Our hearts just absolutely broke for Carlos. Of course he wanted to postpone the wedding, and TK was wonderful about everything. He was so supportive of Carlos and everything he needed during this awful time in his life. We also appreciate Owen stepping up and saving Carlos from making a life-altering mistake. Carlos wouldn’t have been able to live with himself if he killed someone who wasn’t his father’s murderer.
Carlos will feel the loss of his dad for the rest of his life. We feel so sad for him, and we wonder how this will change his future. Will he decide to follow in Gabriel’s footsteps with the Rangers? Or will he focus on solving his dad’s murder? We’ll see.

TK and Carlos’ Wedding
Even though Carlos’ heart is broken, at the end of the episode he decides he wants to marry TK. We’re so glad this wedding still happened especially with all of the other sad events of the night. We can’t say enough about the wedding. It was amazing, and it showed how deeply in love TK and Carlos are. And we might have loved the reception even more than the wedding. Having Tommy sing Gwen’s favorite song was such a wonderful tribute, and watching TK and Carlos embrace each other while she sang was one of our favorite scenes of the show. We’ll definitely be rewatching it during the hiatus.

Helping Family
We desperately needed TK and Carlos’ wedding. Besides watching Carlos grieve, we also had to watch Judd struggle with learning Wyatt may never walk again. He also struggles with how to help him. We know he wants the best for Wyatt, and his heart was in the right place, but is quitting his job really the best thing? Wyatt seems frustrated, and he agree that this may not be the best thing for his recovery or for their relationship. Maybe as time moves on, Judd will learn how to better help Wyatt. Maybe Wyatt will decide to go to a treatment center or he’ll stay with Judd and eventually regain all strength in his hands.
But we really want Judd to come back to work. He needs the 126. Who did he go to first when he needed to talk? Tommy. The 126 is where he belongs, and we hope he figures this out soon.
Owen also dealt with family problems. His brother and his family came for the wedding, and Owen got to see how fast Rob’s Hungtington’s Disease has progressed. He’s having difficulty swallowing, and he’s still set on ending his life. He really doesn’t want to burden his family with this disease. We get it. we really do, but it’s just so unfair. Owen finally gets to know his brother, and know he has to lose him. Why did the show do this to us?
And of course, the episode ended with Rob taking his last breaths. Owen will definitely need TK’s support (we hope TK is up for this. Apparently a lot of people need him these days) and the support of his friends next season. He won’t get through this without his family at the 126.

Other Thoughts:
- Rafael Silva deserves all of the awards for these episodes. ALL of them. He was amazing.
- Will Tommy get married or engaged next season? That conversation at the reception made us think it could happen!
- We’re very much looking forward to next season and seeing TK and Carlos living their best married life.
9-1-1: Lone Star will return on FOX next season.
