This piece was written during the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strikes. We stand with the SAG-AFTRA. Without them, the movies and television shows we cover would not exist.
The past few days, we’ve been thinking a lot about Tori Kelly and everything that she’s going through. You may have heard that the singer was hospitalized after collapsing during dinner with friends. It was uncovered that she had severe blood clots.
It’s something that is so personal to me because I suffer from blood clots. And yes, I mean suffer. I have had multiple instances of them, as well as a pulmonary embolism and for the rest of my life will be on blood thinners. No one knows why it keeps happening to me, but I am getting treated.
Blood clots are no joke. They are deadly and they will wipe you out. So glad that Tori was able to get to the hospital and is speaking out about her condition.

“As you may have heard, I’m dealing with some unexpected health challenges,” she began. “It’s been a scary few days but I can feel your prayers & can’t stop thinking about you. I’m feeling stronger now & hopeful but unfortunately there are still some things to uncover.”
She talked about her thanks to the doctors and nurses that are looking after her. She then spoke about how she had plans for the release of her EP and did know that her health comes first.
She said that the EP “represents the happy place that i’ve been in the past few years,” and that this hurdle wouldn’t prevent the music coming out this Friday.
Tori finished off the post by saying, “I love you all so much & I am truly overwhelmed by all of the love & care I have received. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!”
We’re thinking of you Tori and wishing her the best in this difficult time.
