So, we watched the first teaser for The Morning Show Season 3, and it didn’t really tell us a ton that we didn’t already know. But that doesn’t mean we don’t feel sufficiently…well, teased. There was never really any doubt that we’d be seated for the new season this September. Now, though, we simply have very specific things that we’re looking forward to. Or very particular answers that we really need, if you will.
Actually, let’s just be real here: We’re a little bit obsessed with something beginning just past the 43-second mark and lasting until around the 45-second mark. Like, what’s with Bradley and Laura? There’s definite tension there. Which, obviously, that doesn’t surprise us at all—because Julianna Margulies and Reese Witherspoon. But we can’t decide if what we see here is the good kind of “things are definitely happening after this public event” tension…or something else. Seriously, do we need to stress over the “smash and shatter” voiceover during…that? We very, very much hope not.
(Maybe it’s just that Julianna Margulies Laura Peterson looking at someone like that is enough to smash and shatter anyone. Which…valid.)
With that being said, though, as long as everything works out for this ship, it’s all good. We don’t even mind a little bit of angst along the way. So, we’re not even entirely opposed to those stolen glances being of the “trouble in paradise” variety. But again, let’s be clear here: That’s only as long as everything works out and makes sense. No lazy ship interference just to delay the inevitable, please and thank you. And no, we’re not exactly promising to be chill about them either way. If we’re getting something good, we’re fangirling. And if bad things happen? Don’t talk to us because we’ll be way too upset to be rational.
That’s not to say that those two seconds are the only interesting part of the teaser—because they most definitely aren’t. We just happen to care about Bradley and Laura the most, and we’re not at all sorry about it. But still. This show always delivers plenty of drama, and we can’t wait to see how simultaneously messy and thought-provoking it all gets in Season 3.
Trust & Truth?

So, what else caught our attention in the teaser? When we’re not busy playing that part back at various speeds, trying to figure out what’s going on at this “American Alliance of Journalists” thing, we’re also thinking a lot about truth. And no, we don’t mean The Truth with a capital T, as in The X-Files or anything otherwise ridiculous.
Just…why does that word keep appearing around Bradley? At the beginning, the UBA ad displays “TRUTH” under her photo and “TRUST” under Alex’s. Then, during the Whatever Is Happening With BradleyLaura bit, “TRUTH MATTERS” is in the background of Bradley’s shot. Coincidence? Maybe. But then again, perhaps not.
Also, are we seriously supposed to trust Alex Levy? Seems fake, considering the broad majority of her actions in the first two seasons. Then, there’s also her whole, “let all the secrets come out” line here. So, if we still can’t trust Alex, then that just makes all the truth messaging around Bradley extra concerning. Again, it could mean nothing. Or it could mean everything. We really don’t know, but we can’t wait to find out.
In the meantime, we’ll just sit here, rooting for the WGA and SAG-AFTRA get the fair deal they deserve. Because without writers and actors, there is no show. No Laura Peterson, no Bradley Jackson, no Alex Levy…nothing. We support these unions, period. “Let’s burn it all down” indeed.
(Side note but not totally: Shoutout to Margulies for supporting her union and hitting the picket line. A queen.)
