We’re one step closer to returning to Rick Riordan’s best-selling book series in the Disney+ series Percy Jackson and the Olympians. Starring Walker Scobell, who plays the titular character, it tells the story of demigod who has his life changed when newfound divine powers arise. This sets him off on an adventure that changes him and where he meets life-long friends like Annabeth Chase, played by Leah Sava Jeffries, and Grover, played by Aryan Simhadri.
According to the teaser released today (August 18th) by Disney+, we should expect Percy Jackson and the Olympians on December 20, 2023. It’s going to be a two-episode premiere with new episodes following weekly. The teaser also teased some of the monsters that this trio is set to face while giving them moments to be super serious faced as they confront deep voices who say, “We’ve been expecting you.”
Read the synopsis below: Based on Disney Hyperion’s best-selling book series by award-winning author Rick Riordan, “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” tells the fantastical story of a 12-year-old modern demigod, Percy Jackson, who’s just coming to terms with his newfound divine powers when the sky god Zeus accuses him of stealing his master lightning bolt. With help from his friends Grover and Annabeth, Percy must embark on an adventure of a lifetime to find it and restore order to Olympus.
