With so many facets to the NCIS universe, we keep thinking that we’re somehow going to get over our aversion to the NCIS prequel and embrace it. After all, we love all of the series that NCIS has. There’s just something about the prequel that makes us take a step back.
But then CBS is like we’re going to make you reconsider this stance. How are they going to do that? Well, they’re going to cast Austin Stowell as young Gibbs and suddenly, you have our attention.
Stowell starred in Three Women, The Hating Game, Keep Breathing, and Bridge of Spies – all of which we loved. So yes, we’re definitely paying attention. Not fully committed, but like maybe we’re prepared to put like a toe in the water and see what happens.
According to Deadline, the prequel is, “NCIS: Origins begins in 1991, years prior to the events of NCIS, and follows a young Gibbs. In the series, Gibbs starts his career as a newly minted special agent at the fledgling NCIS Camp Pendleton office where he forges his place on a gritty, ragtag team led by NCIS legend Mike Franks.”
We’re wondering, are you excited for it? Is this something that you will watch? Tell us all the things.
