Well, when you land in Palm Beach and try to get your life together, you need to have your life in somewhat order. You need to make sure that what you’re doing – no matter what happens – is always landing on your feet.
And for Maxine, she’s definitely landing on her feet, if it’s the last thing she does.
Now, I still have yet to figure out why it is that Maxine feels the need to bow to the women of Palm Beach, but here we are. She’s so intent on being one of the elite – but maybe it’s just me – though I can’t figure out why. Money not buying you happiness is just what we’re experiencing here.
But what’s worse is chasing money and that’s exactly what Maxine is doing.
Losing her place to live, she is trying to figure out what to do. She’s still intent that she’s going to be part of the group, especially after she makes the shiny sheet. She thinks that is an automatic entrance into their club. But they are determined to take her down if it is the last thing that they do.
For Maxine, this is just a momentary challenge. She’s going to find a way to rise above. So where will she land? The Dellacorte mansion. Robert may not want her there, and others may feel a little overwhelmed by her, but Maxine doesn’t care. She’s a Dellacourte and she’s going to prove that she’s deserving of that title.
I just have to wonder, what makes a person deserving of any title? This is like high school and it’s older women.
I get the quest for power and money, but I also feel like there should come a point where you realize that you don’t need others’ reassurance to be someone. You just need your own. You need to be who you are.
And do things your own way.
Being intimidated but the way that other people are and allowing any of them to disrespect you is going to be on you. You need to stand up for yourself and well, Maxine seems to not want to do that for herself. She wants to show them that she’s strong.
But she’s pushing away the only people who really care about her. Robert may not care, but he is fascinated by her. After seeing Robert clean up Norma’s mess, and the syringe, I wonder if did he something. Especially after the Rolodex is found in his guest house?
While this episode is getting somewhere, what we do realize is that all of these women only want one thing – status. It doesn’t matter what they have to do to get there. It doesn’t matter who they have to curse over.
And now we know, that all anyone wants is that Rolodex.
OTHER THOUGHTS
- Gonna gag if I ever hear the line “f*** me like a Dellacourte” again
- These women and their drugs
- I think that Robert had something to do with Norma’s embolism
- Why is it that Maxine can’t see that Evelyn is using her
- The way Maxine is so desperate to make people like her… hard pass.
- Is Norma giving all of her fortune to the cats? HAHAHHAA
This episode has gotten a lot better, but I have to admit that I am a little hesitant to believe that it’s going to stay that way. I feel like we need a big burst of action and I need to know where it is going to come from.
