As Amandla Stenberg enters the Star Wars universe via The Acolyte, Hayden Christensen was there to greet her. The heartfelt moment happened during promo material for the upcoming Disney+ series. Stenberg is show on set with the Lucasfilm Online logo in the background. In her hands she has a tablet. And the look on her face when Christensen says her name in greeting is absolutely priceless.
Stenberg is shocked that this moment is happening and has to take a moment to center herself before watching the video on said tablet, a look of wonder on her face the entire time. Christensen went on to say, “I just wanted to send you a quick message to say congratulations. And I’m very excited for the show, and wanted to wish you all the best and welcome you to our Star Wars family.”
Our very own Anakin Skywalker finished the video by saying that he hoped to meet up with her soon, maybe at a Star Wars convention. The disbelief that this had happened to her continued as Stenberg thanked him by saying, “It means the world to me, cuz I’m so honored to step into this universe. And the path that you’ve carved in it means so much to me. So thank you.” She then proceeded to watch the video message from the beginning over and over just to hear him say her name. Which, we’d do the same if we’re being honest.
