This week’s 9-1-1: Lone Star was Paul’s first shift as the 126’s newest Lieutenant. And he definitely learned a few things as the week went on. Tommy also met Trevor’s ex-wife in “My Way”, and there was a twist with Tommy and Trevor we did not see coming. We review.

Lieutenant Strickland
Poor Paul. Having a nightmare about being left out of your friend group probably isn’t how you want to start your tenure as Lieutenant. We get it: being in charge of your friends is a hard task. And it’s not like his idea of letting people volunteer for chores was all bad. There are chores that people prefer to do over others. But, at some point, Paul is going to have to take charge. We think he finally realized that at the end of “My Way” when everyone was sitting around playing games instead of doing chores. We’re proud of the rest of the 126, though, for understanding it’s his job to give orders. And they definitely still want to hang out with him for game nights.
Owen also showed good leadership with Paul this week (we know; it surprised us, too). He explained the seriousness of Paul hiding his injury. That cannot happen. A first responder being injured and not disclosing it can have disastrous consequences. They were just lucky that nothing bad happened this time. Owen also showed him that being a leader means you have to delegate. You can’t do everything yourself.

Goodbye, Trevor
“My Way” also focused on Tommy and Trevor and his ex-wife. We were really looking forward to this dinner, but it definitely didn’t turn out the way we expected it to. We admit, we were with Tommy when she thought the ex-wife was behind all of the unfortunate events. It made sense, but we were definitely surprised when it turned out to be Melody. Why would she do something like this? Well, she misses her mom, which is completely understandable. She wants to go back home with her mom, and if she does that, then Trevor would miss getting to spend time with her and getting to see her everyday.
The obvious solution is for Trevor to move so he can be closer to Melody and so Melody can have both of her parents. Tommy was selfless by giving up Trevor. As a mom, she understands that Trevor’s daughter comes first. We’re really sad. We liked Tommy and Trevor together, and we really thought they were going to make it. We’re going to miss you, Trevor (and DB Woodside). And we have to wonder: is Tommy ever going to get her happy ever after? She’s been through so much and deserves happiness.

Other Thoughts:
- Judd was amazing as a probie. He didn’t complain about any assignments or chores and just had a great attitude. We’re so happy he’s back where he belongs. Just don’t ask him to make coffee.
- We’re just going to sum up the hoarder’s house in one word: EWWW!!!!
- We didn’t think the pregnant woman was going to make it. The amount of blood loss and the time she was down just made it seem like they weren’t going to get her back. We’re so happy we were wrong. The 126 came through just in time to get her blood and save her life. And Tommy, TK, and Nancy were complete rockstars through the entire ordeal.
