One of our favorite book series of all time is becoming a movie. If you’ve never read Shiver by New York Times bestselling author Maggie Stiefvater. We couldn’t be happier.
Maddie Ziegler and Levi Miller are set in the starring roles of the adaptation coming from Simple House Films. Andy Flickman had been set as the director, but it turns out he’s no longer attached. Directing the movie now is Claire McCarthy. McCarthy and Jett Tattersall also wrote the script.
The movie is being filmed now in Vancouver, Canada.
If you haven’t read the book series, you definitely should. The book is the first in the The Wolves of Mercy Falls series.
The book is about, “For years, Grace has watched the wolves in the woods behind her house. One yellow-eyed wolf—her wolf—is a chilling presence she can’t seem to live without.”
It continues, “Meanwhile, Sam has lived two lives: In winter, the frozen woods, the protection of the pack, and the silent company of a fearless girl. In summer, a few precious months of being human… until the cold makes him shift back again.”
And concludes, “Now, Grace meets a yellow-eyed boy whose familiarity takes her breath away. It’s her wolf. It has to be. But as winter nears, Sam must fight to stay human—or risk losing himself, and Grace, forever.”
The book has won all sorts of awards such as the Georgia Peach Book Award (2010), Pennsylvania Young Readers’ Choice Award Nominee (2011), Children’s Choice Book Award Nominee for Teen Choice Book of the Year (2010), and more.
No word on when the movie will be released, but we’re definitely going to be on the edge of our seat waiting for more information.
