Finding Mr. Christmas Episode 6 continues to be so wholesome, even when the competition gets down to the wire. Hallmark might have created the impossible in this show, a reality TV show where the competition isn’t the most important thing! I’m not even kidding. There’s a moment in this hour where Elijah goes out of his way to help Blake, who if this were any other show, he wouldn’t be helping, and yet in the context of what Finding Mr. Christmas is feels just normal.
Ironically, there has yet to be one moment in this competition where it feels like one of the contestants being nice has played against them. Instead, they have been their best selves and they have been rewarded for it. In the United States of America. In 2024! Who knew? It’s like we can still have hope! Perhaps that’s what makes the show as appealing as it does. Hot men who are nice and the hope that people can still be good? Sign us up!

HAYDEN AND EZRA BROUGHT IT

Hayden has been consistently one of the strongest guys on Finding Mr. Christmas, mostly because it seems like his instincts about how to play a scene are always dead on, but this episode was Ezra’s moment to shine. If this show is about finding your vulnerability and letting it shine, then Ezra absolutely did that, and though it took him a while, he did it when it counted, and he moved everyone—including the other guys. Plus, this is above all things an acting challenge, not a charisma challenge, and Ezra and Hayden excelled at the hardest acting challenge the show has given them yet.
Not only that, they were the only two who commanded the scene. All the other guys had me focusing on the guest judge—who was phenomenal, btw! One of the greatest things about this show for Hallmark is also the showcase it gives some of their stars because I promise you, I Googled Rachel Boston right away. Casual watchers aren’t just falling in love with these men, they’re falling in love with the guest stars, and that’s just what Hallmark wants.

AND THEN THERE WERE FOUR

Finding Mr. Christmas has been very, very good at eliminating whoever did worse in any given challenge. This week, that was undoubtedly Jonathan. Not just that, he was only in the bottom two the week before after struggling in his last challenge, so it felt like struggling in back-to-back challenges and going against Blake, who really hadn’t struggled at all made for a very obvious choice for the judges.
But the top four is …hard. There really is no weak link at all. I really wouldn’t be surprised if any of these men won. I guess at this point it kinda depends on what challenges they still have coming up and whose strengths are really served by those upcoming challenges. But considering the men left and how well they’ve done, I really hope Hallmark finds something for all of them somewhere in their Christmas slate next year, even if it’s not a leading role. It feels like, at this point, they all deserve it.
