With Spring basically here, we’re continuing our journey of supporting LGBTQ+ books and the authors within our community. From mermen falling in love to renegade girls and period romances, we’ve got you covered with a list of LGBTQ+ books coming out April 2025.
A special shoutout goes to Netgalley, the premiere source of getting books in advance if you’re looking to review books. Most of the summaries were sourced from Netgalley, Amazon, or Barnes and Noble and we hope this helps get readers interested in these creative queer writers!

1. Renegade Girls by Nora Neus
Summary: Seventeen-year-old Helena “Nell” Cusack came to New York this summer looking for a story—a real story. She dreams of one day writing hard-hitting articles for the New York Chronicle, but so far she’s only managed to land a job as a lowly society reporter. That is, until Alice Austen strolls into her life, an audacious street photographer who encourages Nell to shake up polite society…and maybe also take a chance on love.

2. Storm and Sea by Tereza Kane
Summary: Atreus has carved out a quiet, stable life among humans on the island of Baia Vita, earning their respect while hiding a dangerous truth: he is Mer. 3. Ollie in Between by Jess Callans
Summary: Puberty, AKA the ultimate biological predator, is driving a wedge between soon-to-be 13 year old Ollie Thompson and their lifelong friends. Too much of a girl for their neighborhood hockey team, but not girly enough for their boy-crazed BFF, Ollie doesn’t know where they fit. And their usual ability to camouflage? Woefully disrupted.
When a school project asks them to write an essay on what it means to be a woman (if anyone’s got an answer, that’d be great), and one of their new friends is the target of bullying, Ollie is caught between the safety of fleeing from their own differences or confronting the risks of fighting to take their own path forward.

4. Francine’s Spectacular Crash and Burn
Summary: Francine Stevenson gets more than she bargained for when she rescues ten-year-old Davie from a group of bullies clamoring to snatch his beloved iPad. From that day forward the puzzlingly direct boy continues to show up at her door until the two develop a unique understanding. Their Pixar movie nights and Davie’s random Steve Jobs factoids slowly work to soothe the ache of her mother’s recent passing.

5. Anywhere You Go by Bridget Morrissey

6. Eat the Ones You Love by Sarah Maria Griffin

7. If We Were a Movie by Zakiya N. Jamal

8. When the Tides Held the Moon by Venessa Vida Kelley

9. Once Upon You and Me by Timothy Janovsky

10. The Unlikely Pursuit of Mary Bennet by Lindz McLeod
