Today (February 27), Prime Video confirmed that Jamie Campbell Bower will be joining the cast of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power for the series’ upcoming third season. The series is currently in pre-production and will begin filming this spring at the series’ new production home at Shepperton Studios in the UK.
Bower, who is best known for his role as Henry Creel/Vecna in Netflix’s Stranger Things, will be a series regular. His other works include the films Emmanuelle, Witchboard, and Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 1. When it comes to Stranger Things he also worked on the VR game for it. And surprisingly enough, Bower has also done voice acting on the children’s TV show Thomas & Friends.
But Jamie Campbell Bower isn’t the only actor joining season 3 of The Rings of Power. Eddie Marsan is also joining season 3, but in a recurring role. Marsan’s body of work spans over 20 years. And he’s known for recent series like Heartstopper, Supacell, and Franklin. As for movies, he’s worked on films like Happy-Go-Lucky and Vera.
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is produced by showrunners and executive producers J.D. Payne & Patrick McKay. They are joined by executive producers Lindsey Weber, Justin Doble, Kate Hazell, and executive producer-director Charlotte Brändström. Matthew Penry-Davey is producer and Ally O’Leary, Tim Keene, and Andrew Lee are co-producers.
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power seasons 1 and 2 are available on Prime Video.
