We love stories that help us to get to know someone, so it should be of no surprise to anyone that we love hearing Beth Behrs talk about her past. Her past job that is. One that sounds absolutely fabulous.
The actress was on the Drew Barrymore show and talked about how she was once Joan Rivers assistant.
“She was not the Joan Rivers that you guys think. She was like a grandma. I saw her every morning, no makeup. She would be cooking me eggs. She’d be like, ‘Do you want a manicure pedicure? Let’s have someone come over, go pick out something from my QVC line,’” Beth said when talking about Joan.
She continued, “It was night and day like persona. So maternal. The persona versus the woman that I got to know was just like amazing.”
Joan, who many think of as the leader of the fashion police, as well as a great comedian, sounds amazing. We know that being an assistant is hard work, but Beth definitely enjoyed working for Joan. Honestly, when you work for someone that is amazing (speaking from experience) then it never feels like work.
What we loved the most about Beths recount of working for Joan was the dating advice that Joan gave her.
Beth said, “She also told me I should. vacuum with heels on around my future husband always, but she didn’t know like I don’t own heels really unless I’m borrowing them.”
