“When I’m with Jere, everything is easier, but everywhere I go, there’s a memory of Conrad,” Belly says in the trailer for the third season of The Summer I Turned Pretty, “Life’s too short not to spend it with the person that you love.”
The trailer for the third and final season of The Summer I Turned Pretty has been released, and it will hit you right in the feels.
Fair warning, it will hit you hard.
I didn’t expect this trailer to make me cry. I know, I know – I cry at everything. BUT – in my defense, The Summer I Turned Pretty books changed my life, and the show has been so special. I don’t think that bringing these books to life could have gone any better. Lola Tung, Gavin Casalegno, and Christopher Briney are a gift. They were meant to play these characters.
The adaptation has shown us all that you can honor any book’s heart.
And I say that, terrified that they will change the ending of the book for the show. Having been a fan of the books for over a decade (and a Conrad girlie), I do not know how author and showrunner, Jenny Han, is able to honor the books and honor the people discovering the series for the first time.
In this third season, we are picking up two years after we left off in season 2. “It’s the end of her junior year of college, and Belly’s looking forward to another summer in Cousins with her soulmate, Jeremiah. Her future seems set, until some core-shaking events bring her first love Conrad back into her life. Now on the brink of adulthood, Belly finds herself at a crossroads and must decide which brother has her heart. Summer will never be the same.”
