A new procedural journey is about to start in 9-1-1: Nashville Season 1!
A spin-off of the beloved 9-1-1 franchise, it tells the story of a Nashville firehouse and a family saga of power. At the center of all of this is Chris O’Donnell’s Don Hart. He’s the Captain of a house living a pretty comfortable life with wife Blythe Hart (Jessica Capshaw) and son Ryan Hart (Michael Provost). Things take a turn when they encounter Blue Bennings (Hunter McVey), a stripper dressed as a firefighter on a call, that claims to be the Captain’s son.
Joining the firehouse is Juani Feliz as Roxie Alba. She’s a firefighter and former trauma surgeon and adrenaline junkie. Hailey Kilgore is joining as Taylor Thompson, a firefighter who is also a singer. And for dispatch, we’ve got Kimberly Williams-Paisley as Cammie Raleigh. Rounding out the cast is Leann Rimes as Dixie Bennings, Blue’s mother.
Even though some fans are excited for 9-1-1: Nashville, there are plenty of people that are hesitant when it comes to this new show. Some think that Don is Temu Bobby Nash from 9-1-1. Others aren’t vibing with the rich family saga of it all as it feels like a departure from previous iterations.
But the most glaring issue that fans keep bringing up is the diversity aspect of it. The shows synopsis says its set in “one of America’s most diverse” cities. And yet out of the 8 main cast members, only two are women of color, and they are the smallest on the main show poster. Also, there are no men of color in the main cast.
