When it comes to When Calls The Heart, there is a lesson to be learned with every episode. This one – it’s about community. The community in Hope Valley is one that relies on each other, and that becomes really apparent when they are… in a jam.
Hope Valley has been through so much and it feels like this is the time for things to start getting better. Seeing the community ban together to help the Canfields, who have been through so much.
Minnies jam has been such a hit that a hotel wants her to stock their breakfast room – but that means 500 jars of jam. Now as a person whose made jam, I think that is ambitious. I also feel like I will never have anymore jam as the sugar in those quarts is insane.
The way that the community came together, working the assembly line that could get the jam done, and Minnie with a clipboard was cute. There was of course drama and chaos, but that was the best part. There is nothing about the people of Hope Valley that isn’t inspiring.
Because they want everyone to be happy.
They want everyone to be fulfilled.
TART
The making of the jam was a production, but there was one batch that missed the sugar and leave it to Lee to find that there is something is wrong. The jam is tart and they go through all of the jars to find and fix.
The Canfields deserve a miracle, because they are good people. But also the time that they’ve had as of late, I believe that they needed to be reminded of how great of people that they are. The jam got on the train and I love that these two got their miracle.
The way that the Canfields love each other is a beautiful thing. The way that they believe in each other is a beautiful thing.
Family is supposed to be this unconditional and with this family it is. The simplest and the biggest of things – it doesn’t matter. They are going to love with everything that they can. They deserve things that not only can’t be taken away, just like they wanted.
GOVERNOR JEALOUS
Lucas is such a stubborn man sometimes. When he has to see Fernando and Edie together, he feels like he’s not enough.
Lucas is young and he’s full of life, but he’s also not good at letting walls down. Though there is nothing between Edie and Fernando, he seems to think that there is. He wants to feel young and full of life.
Lucas has been burned by relationships before and I definitely get that. But, haven’t we all before? I find him wanting to pull away to be childish, but hey, what can you do? People have to learn for themselves that not everyone leaves.
CHRISTOPHER
I think that Christopher has a good heart and he wants to do what is right. It’s just that he is going against the big corporations of the time and that is a lot. His fear is justified, especially when he’s almost run over. He hits his head on a
But Nathan, gets him to the infirmary, and Christopher is going to be okay. It’s the way that Henry is terrified for his son and is going to do everything to keep him safe. Christopher is obviously targeted because of what he knows. He’s being scared into being obedient and it’s honestly sad to me. It’s sad because I know that Christopher just wants to do the right thing.
But the fear in deep within him and he runs. I don’t think it would be fair for any of us to judge that, even though I know we all would and will.
NATHAN & ELIZABETH
Elizabeth has faced loosing people before. She’s had her heartbroken. She’s known loss and when she hears that Nathan was injured, it doesn’t surprise anyone that she goes running to his side.
There is something that happens when a person is faced with mortality.
Nathan is not a man that likes to admit that he can get hurt, but he can. Knowing that something could happen to him, all he thought of was Elizabeth, Allie, and LJ. If something happened to him, who would be there for Allie?
Well, he asks Elizabeth to be and to no ones shock she says yes, she of course would. And there’ is no surprise that if the tables were turned he would take in LJ and raise him as his own.
Really going to need these two to get married.
LILY AND FAITH
Little Lily’s heart is breaking over not getting to spend time with her aunt – I felt that. I felt the want to be loved and the want to have her aunts attention. There is something about a childs love that makes me feel bad for them when they don’t get it.
Now it’s not to say that Faith doesn’t love Lily. She does. She is just so busy and being the only doctor for two towns is a lot of stress on her. She doesn’t get time to breathe.
People are realizing that Faith needs help and most importantly Faith is realizing that she does. She’s not going to be able to balance everything, but that’s okay. Sometimes its not about being everywhere at once, but making sure that others know that you are there for them.
She gives Lily a pin for her hair, that when she misses her, all she has to do is touch it and she will know that she is loved and thought of. It was a sweet moment.
