We’re back! The Rookie Season 8 Episode 16 ‘Out Of Time’ is the start of a much bigger story that leads us straight to the season finale. And it makes us feel like our show is back after a few not-so-great episodes. Ready?
Here we go!
First Steps in The Rookie Season 8 Episode 16 ‘Out Of Time’

The first thing we discovered after watching The Rookie Season 8 Episode 16 ‘Out Of Time’ is that we couldn’t take it as a standalone episode. At first, it seems like a bridge episode, but it soon obvious that it’s part of a much larger picture. It’s Act I of a three-act story. That’s why they introduce many storylines, but none are developed in depth or have a satisfying ending—everything will come in due time—except for the one involving Wopez.
So, The Rookie Season 8 Episode 16 ‘Out Of Time’ is the beginning of the season finale’s big story. And it’s quite an interesting one. We have two villains in the mix who are going to complicate things for our favorite characters. On one hand, there’s Monica, who, although we don’t know exactly what she’s planning, we do know is playing both sides. And she’s going to betray Grey and the FBI, which will definitely put them in danger.
And let’s hope that whatever happens, that’s the end of Monica for a while.
On the other hand, The Rookie Season 8 Episode 16 ‘Out Of Time’ reintroduces the strongest villain: Glasser. With him, we definitely know what to expect. Glasser is connecting the dots. That puts the whole team in danger, especially Nyla and even Nolan, since Glasser almost ki**ed him and he escaped. If you ask us, it was too convenient that Glasser was shot right when he was on the phone with his shady lawyer.
We’re sure that was planned by both of them.

Convenient Situations

The shooting gave Glasser the opportunity to put his plan into action. First, he made the entire team that had put him behind bars protect him—thus ensuring he could humiliate and mock them in the process while keeping them close—and then he managed to manipulate everything to make his ex look crazy and himself like the victim. All of this just so he could torment her with what hurts her most: their son.
Glasser doesn’t care about the kid; he only sees him as a means to an end.
The one thing Glasser hadn’t planned for in The Rookie Season 8 Episode 16 ‘Out Of Time’ was the attack by the father of one of his victims. That’s why he was genuinely surprised that Nolan took a bullet for him. He never thought he would actually do it…and perhaps that’s what got Nolan off his blacklist. He got away, but he also saved his life.
However, Nyla and his ex-wife top Glasser’s blacklist. They’re in real danger because he won’t rest until he catches them. And he surely has something macabre planned for each of them…and we’re nervous about that. But we’re also confident they can handle it. The team already beat him once. They’ll do it again.

Other Stuff in The Rookie Season 8 Episode 16 ‘Out Of Time’

- It’s happening! Chenford’s proposal is so close! And we’re SCREAMING!
- And we love that Nyla and Angela weren’t even surprised. They knew it was coming.
- And Mom Bradford knew it too! And she approves!
- Yeah, that ring is way too…purple.
- Tim is super cute not wanting to offend his mom. But he can’t give that ring to Lucy, so the white lie was the best option.
- We can’t wait to see this proposal. We just know Tim will pull it off perfectly.
- We’re worried about Nolan there.
- Glasser is so manipulative and such a psychopath. He really scares us.
- We think Monica is going to pay dearly for not knowing when to stop playing games.
- Wesley and Angela are on opposing sides like in the old days! We love it!
- Angela was so mad. Like, she would have strangled Wesley if she’d seen him. LMAO.
- That client is a mess; we don’t even know if Monica gave Wesley a gift.
- We’re glad to see our former least favorite prosecutor has changed so much.
- We can’t wait to see how this great story continues in the next episode!
