“We are so back” has never been truer thanks to Prime Video’s new initiative, “Obsession Is In Session.” The streamer is setting out to celebrate young adult storytelling and fandom culture with its upcoming lineup, as well as Obsessed Fest. The latter of which is set for Saturday, June 27, in LA. It’s described as the anchor of Prime Video’s new initiative and will be a “summer tentpole event that brings the internet’s most passionate fandoms to life.”
To commemorate Obsession Is In Session, the streamer released a sizzle reel that made me nostalgic for the golden days of The WB and The CW. It features first-look footage from Off Campus, Every Year After, Elle, Sterling Point, The Last Sunrise, The Love Hypothesis, The Devil’s Mouth, Maxton Hall Season 3, Drawn Together (Marfil), Your Fault: London, Perfectos Mentirosos, and Clashing Through the Snow. With two minutes and a few seconds of footage of each project, Prime Video has our undivided attention. We’re already clamoring for more!

What Is Obsessed Fest?
As for Obsessed Fest, the all-day, immersive event will take place at nya Studios. It will transform “online fandom into a live, participatory celebration where fans can connect, discover, and engage like never before.” Obsessed Fest will feature some of those highly anticipated projects. It will have “exclusive first looks, appearances from casts and creators, and a range of fan-focused access to the talent and creators behind the stories they obsess over.”
Sue Kroll, head of marketing at Amazon MGM Studios, told The Hollywood Reporter:
“Audiences today don’t just consume stories—they inhabit them, build communities around them, and carry them far beyond the screen. Obsessed Fest is our invitation to bring that energy into the real world—a space where fandom, storytelling, and genuine connection converge in a way that feels immediate, immersive, and unforgettable.”
Obsessed Fest will include a Main Stage for a central programming hub, fit with “live, talent-led sessions with exclusive footage and interactive fan moments.” There will be a literary lounge “with author signings, live conversations, workshops, and curated bookshelves,” and a suite for content creation. Not to mention, fans can look forward to screenings, merchandise, and concessions.
It will also be the first activation of Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios’ Prime Book Club. That program plans to expand “the company’s book-to-screen storytelling pipeline.” Needless to say, there is plenty to look forward to this summer–and the rest of the year. It’s a good time to be a fan of stories!
