Prime Video’s The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power released an epic season three teaser trailer at the Prime Video Hall H panel at San Diego Comic Con for the show. The panel featured Cynthia Addai-Robinson, Owain Arthur, Ismael Cruz Cordova, Charlie Vickers, Daniel Weyman, and Season Three newcomer Jamie Campbell Bower. And honestly, it’s looking like they’re giving us everything we want (Celeborn), less of Sauron in that blonde wig, and more drama as to the events leading up to the events of The Lord of the Rings.
In the teaser trailer we see Galadriel dancing with Celeborn, asking him where he’s been, and there’s even kissing! For fans of the books, the movies, or just even Bower (Stranger Things), this is a win all around. Because we know that Galadriel is a caring person but we’ve waiting for more of that personal touch and connection. (Well besides that connection she had with Halbrand in Season 1.) But if her husband here, I welcome seeing a married couple taking on the dangers of this world together.
Another really exciting bit about The Rings of Power Season 3 trailer is the Nazgnagôl. Not only did they appear at SDCC in full armor, they signal the birth of the Nazgûl aka the Ringwraiths is imminent. Think of the Nazgnagôl as Sauron’s first draft, including the fell beasts. And sidenote, Sauron’s looking pretty devilish in that crown and fit, which will absolutely have a stranglehold on the fandom.
As for casting news, Eddie Marsan (Happy-Go-Lucky) will be portraying King Durin IV’s older brother, “Thrain.” Andrew Richardson (Guys & Dolls) will be playing Elendil’s younger son and Isildur’s brother, “Anarion.” And Adam Young (Don’t Breathe 2) will be playing “Marnûkh,” a mysterious Orc who may not be what he seems. (Not the Adam Young from Owl City unfortunately.)
And finally: the Balrog. Now this one is definitely going to be controversial. As a fan of The Rings of Power and The Lord of the Rings, my brain can’t really comprehend the thought of the Balrog speaking. But apparently Simon Pegg is taking on the reigns. This news was revealed during a special in-room only featurette titled “Bringing Season Three’s Creatures to life.”

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 3 premieres November 11, 2026 with four episodes. Then episodes 305 & 306 will be available November 18th. And the final two episodes of the season will be released on November 25th.
