We watch a lot of TV and movies! So yeah, we’re fangirling over a lot of things! Each week we come together to highlight all the feels they give us throughout the week. On these Fangirlish Feels of the Week, there are five categories and many thoughts! Ready?

Best Scene of the Week
Raquel: The moment Maggie realizes she messed up big time with Liam in Sullivan’s Crossing since he doesn’t know her and is so selfish. Also he’s only in love with the idea of her, and above all, when she realizes that she loves Cal and couldn’t live without him, finally!!!
Ashley W.: I think my actual answer of a certain flashback scene in Spider-Man: Brand New Day between Tom Holland’s Peter Parker and other characters I’ll refrain from naming is too spoiler-y to get into. So I’ll instead just highlight anytime Peter and Jon Bernthal’s Frank Castle/The Punisher were bickering with each other. Their dynamic was so good and natural, and dare I say it was my favorite Punisher appearance.
Rachel: I’m also going to do my best to avoid spoilers and just say that I think a certain heart-to-heart conversation between Tom Holland’s Peter Parker and Sadie SInk’s character in Spider-Man: Brand New Day was amazing. I think moments like that are what the Marvel Multiverse Saga should’ve been more often. These Spider-Man films have been the best part of that saga and the only things that have come close to equaling the Infinity Saga.
Jasmine: I started watching Furious on Hulu this week and I have to say I’m enjoying Emmy Rossum as FBI Agent Alice Black. It’s clear from the start she’s dealing with trauma of her own while trying to capture a female serial killer. Every time she walks into her bathroom and stares at the shower head she tenses up.
And when her partner Danny notices she’s not showering and learns the reason why from her sister, he offers to sit by the tub so she can. The minute she steps in and the water pours over her you can see the relief and the release at the same time. It’s an important moment because it also shows how much she trusts Danny to allow him to even do that in the first place.
Ship of the Week
Raquel: Still watching Sullivan’s Crossing, so, continuing with my previous answer, Maggie and Cal.
Shana: Currently rewatching The Nanny, so: Fran Fine and Mr. Sheffield.
Shelby: I don’t know if it counts as a singular ship, but my answer is definitely ship related. Adults dropped a prequel episode about how all the characters met Paul Baker. And I loved learning that Paul Baker’s chemistry with both Issa and Anton is different and instant. I need Season 2 now!
Rachel: It’s gotta be Peter and MJ in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, doesn’t it? I mean, it’s pretty special when a movie can present a ship with so much on-screen (and real life) history but make it feel like they are starting from scratch and get you emotionally invested in them all over again. Tom Holland and Zendaya’s chemistry is generational.
Best Performance of the Week
Shana: Makayla Couture and Aurora Matrix in that lip sync on Canada’s Drag Race All Stars. You know it’s good when every clip of Brooke Lynn Hytes is basically her sitting at the judges’ table making heart eyes while she beams…and Jimbo joins the standing ovation with drag that stops above the waist. (For what it’s worth, if not for the track record argument, I would’ve saved Makayla.)
It’s a tragedy I can’t find an official video of the full thing anywhere, but at least there’s this:
Shelby: I’ve been rewatching Wizards Beyond Waverly Place ahead of its four-part final season. I know it’s cheating, but I’m really stunned by the entire young cast. They’ve grown into their characters. They’re so good at making the comedic beats land. And I’m always delighted by how well they make the emotional ones hit, too, like that Season 2 cliffhanger.
Ashley W.: I obviously can’t say too much about this without spoiling things, but I was impressed with Sadie Sink in Spider-Man: Brand New Day! The nuance and emotion she brought to the role was really great, and her performance has me intrigued to see where she’ll take the character moving forward in the MCU.
Jasmine: Every moment of Lola Petticrew onscreen as Catherine in Furious. She engages you every time she’s onscreen. She’s doing things to these men because she’s been through trauma. I know in some ways she could be seen as the villain in this story because of her actions but I’m still Team Catherine at the moment. I don’t necessarily agree with every action she takes but I understand her.
Moment that Annoyed Us This Week
Shana: Another one from my rewatch of The Nanny: I don’t care how many years it’s been or how many times I’ve seen it, Mr. Sheffield taking back The Thing will never not pi** me off.
Ashley W.: Marvel canceling season 2 of Wonder Man is a shame and a major disappointment! Burying the news amidst the excitement for Spider-Man: Brand New Day doesn’t make the cancellation easier to deal with. I love the MCU, but it’s ridiculous how unwilling Marvel seems to be about taking risks and committing to diverse stories.
If Marvel hadn’t ever announced a season 2 for Wonder Man, it would’ve been unfortunate but fine, because Marvel has so rarely given its Disney+ live-action shows more than one season. But they did, and for whatever reason (hopefully a very good, valid one), they’ve backtracked on Wonder Man. Let’s hope it at least doesn’t mean the end of Yahya Abdul-Mateen II’s Simon Williams.
Jasmine: Alice’s trash ex boyfriend Marshall in Furious Episode 1×03 having the audacity to ask her to come see his dying mother who proceeded to call her out for telling people what kind of person he is. Then him getting in her face demanding she tell his Lieutenant he deserves to be promoted. He physically abused her which is why I was beyond surprised she’d even go to see his mom at all. Especially with him there. I knew he had an ulterior motive.
