Here’s Everyone in the ‘Dancing with the Stars’ Season 35 Cast

Every day brings us closer to Dancing with the Stars Season 35. Hosts (and Mirrorball Champions in their own right) Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough announced the reality competition show’s renewal at Hulu’s Get Real event in April. They also revealed the new spinoff series, Dancing with the Stars: The Next Pro, hosted by Mirrorball Champion Robert Irwin. The new series will premiere on Monday, July 13, at 8/7c on ABC. Assumedly, that season will run up to when Dancing with the Stars returns. That way, the 35th season can introduce the new pro, whoever they may be.

At that same event, Ribeiro and Hough announced the first two celebrities who will compete on Dancing with the Stars this season. After breaking out on Traitors US, Maura Higgins will take a spin in the ballroom. As someone who has been a fan of Higgins’s presence in reality TV since she made an impression in Love Island UK, I couldn’t be more thrilled by this news. She will be joined by Traitors US contestant and Summer House star Ciara Miller. I’ve become obsessed with Miller and Tefi Pessoa while they host Love Island Aftersun, so this is exciting.

Who Is Joining Dancing with the Stars Season 35?

In May, the Savannah Bananas’ Jackson Olson joined the cast. Derek Hough, who is a six-time Mirrorball Champion and a Dancing with the Stars judge, told Good Morning America that he felt a bit responsible for Olson’s casting. Hough spoke about being a Savannah Bananas fan and wanting to work with the team. He also promoted Olson’s social media presence and dance moves. Both of which could greatly benefit Olson’s time on Dancing with the Stars.

On Jimmy Kimmel Live! in June, Jimmy Kimmel announced that Guillermo Rodriguez would also join Dancing with the Stars Season 35. Kimmel introduced Rodriguez as “someone you know, someone you love. He’s someone we know quite well.” When he asked Rodriguez if he knew who it was, he pretended that he was just as excited as everyone else to find out. Next thing you know: Rodriguez is dancing out to the news, happy to compete this season. I wonder if he will be this year’s version of the People’s Prince, like Andy Richter last season.

There’s also been an update to the show’s troupe. Last season, the supporting group of dancers consisted of Hailey Bills, Onye Stevenson, Carter Williams, and Jaxon Willard. Bills consistently appeared on the recent run of the Dancing with the Stars Tour. She also appeared on stage throughout the inaugural Dancing with the Stars Con from July 31 to August 2 in Palm Springs, California.

There, DWTS pros Alan Bersten, Jenna Johnson, and Sasha Farber made a special announcement: Kamri Peterson is joining the troupe! She will return to the DWTS ballroom for Season 35 after being a Dancing with the Stars Juniors pro in its one and only season. As of August, Peterson’s addition is the only news about troupe for the upcoming season. The Dancing with the Stars: The Next Pro finale revealed Adele Zaikman as the winner, securing her a spot as a pro on DWTS Season 35.

Who Are the Pairings Announced Before the Show?

Two-time Mirrorball Champion Witney Carson teased an upcoming appearance on Good Morning America. The spot is mainly to talk about her role as mentor and guest judge in the latest episode of Dancing with the Stars: The Next Pro, hosted by her Mirrorball Champion partner Robert Irwin. While there, Carson confirmed that she will be returning to the ballroom for Dancing with the Stars Season 35. Moreover, she will be paired with Guillermo Rodriguez!

One of the biggest announcements heading into Dancing with the Stars Season 35 came in the last week of August — Sharna Burgess is returning to the ballroom as a pro. The DWTS Instagram caption read: “A little birdie told us an absolute firecracker is back in the ballroom. Please give @sharnaburgess a warm welcome on her return as a #DWTS pro.” This news is exciting for fans like me who loved Burgess’s time on the show, which ended with Season 30 when she competed with her now fiancé, Brian Austin Green.

Burgess, who was a pro for Seasons 16-27 and 29-30 and returned to perform in the opening of the 500th episode in November 2024, was recently present at Dancing with the Stars Con. Of course, the news of Burgess’s return aired on Good Morning America. Burgess said, “I can’t wait to be back in the ballroom with my dancing family. Mostly, it feels so good to be coming home.” It’s only a matter of time before we find out who she’s paired with!

Before the big announcement of the pairings, Good Morning America will reveal the Season 35 judges and hosts on Tuesday, September 1. As of now, the judges are Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Toniolo, and Derek Hough — with special guest judges throughout the season. Also, DWTS‘s hosts are Julianne Hough and Alfonso Ribeiro. That’s how things have been for a while, and according to GMA segment on Tuesday, that’s how it will stay. The group got together to talk about the show’s impact, Dolly Parton’s appearance on the show, and to tease a theme night they can’t talk about but are excited to see in DWTS Season 35.

The DWTS Season 35 Full Cast Reveal

On Wednesday, September 2, the Dancing with the Stars Season 35 cast was revealed on Good Morning America. They did an opening number to “Let’s Get Loud” and then revealed that Hailey Bills, DWTS Season 34 troupe member, will be a pro for the upcoming season.
