Special Agent Sam Hanna is heading back home in NCIS: New York. This comes after 323 episodes of NCIS: Los Angeles, 12 episodes of NCIS: Hawai’i, and 6 episodes on NCIS. And now this time, LL Cool J’s beloved character is helping lead his own team, with the actor acting as an executive producer.
What leads Sam back to NYC is the death of friend and Navy reservist Jack Halloway. Not being able to let this one go, he requests permission from Assistant Special Agent-In-Charge Robyn Wells to investigate his friend’s death. And in the “Pilot” episode, we’ll see the beginning of bonds form as he meets roguish agent Nick Schaeffer, played by Scott Caan.
From the photos, synopsis, and trailer below, we know it’s not going to be an easy journey for Sam. It never is in these kinds of investigations. But it’s obvious that Sam and Nick have the kind of chemistry and banter that is going to make this show shine. And the rest of the team seems just as ready and intrigued to watch this legend get to work in NYC.

Synopsis
Here is the synopsis for the ‘Pilot’:
“After years of special assignments and covert ops, Special Agent Sam Hanna (LL COOL J) returns to his hometown of New York City for a brand-new mission. When Sam’s friend and Navy reservist Jack Halloway is found dead, he requests permission from Assistant Special Agent-In-Charge Robyn Wells (Jennifer Beals) to investigate his friend’s death. Robyn pairs Sam with roguish agent Nick Schaeffer (Scott Caan), who introduces him to the rest of the team: clean-cut Wyatt Sellers (Shane Harper), bright-eyed Addy Ross (Jacqueline Byers) and hacker-turned-computer guy Sean Sullivan (Devin Druid). As the team investigates Jack’s death, they work together to gather key information that can help find the culprits.”
