We watch a lot of TV and movies! So yeah, we’re fangirling over a lot of things! Each week we come together to highlight all the feels they give us throughout the week. On these Fangirlish Feels of the Week, there are five categories and many thoughts! Ready?
Here we go!
Best Scene of the Week

Lizzie: We still haven’t even gotten the Tony and Gibbs reunion, but the final scene of NCIS: Origins, with Gibbs walking into Tony’s NCIS office, already made me incredibly emotional. There’s something about coming back home, I guess.
Jennifer: Seeing Mickey stand up for herself and create that boundary of keeping work separate from family when accepting Eva’s deal to help the DEA solve drug trafficking in Edgewater was something we applauded. Because right now her mother Eva and her father Wes don’t deserve her compassion or space to try and resolve their issues. At least not right now. So, we think Mickey treating her parents as strangers and co-workers is the best thing because she’s protecting her damaged heart. And we’re happy she’s doing just that.
Ashley W.: I didn’t actually enjoy this scene from VisionQuest episode 2: “Theseus” (spoilers ahead!). In fact, I yelled at my TV when I realized what was happening, but it’s a very good, emotional scene that deserves a shoutout.
The J.A.R.V.I.S. in VisionQuest is the embodiment of Tony Stark’s A.I. of the same name and not the actual Edwin Jarvis the program is named for, but it was still exciting to see James D’Arcy again, which is what made J.A.R.V.I.S. sacrificing himself and deleting his code to save the other A.I.s even more sad. We just got him back, and Marvel already took him away from us! Our was a very honorable act, though, that feels true to what the real Jarvis would do.
Rachel: OK, I know it’s going to sound sappy, and there are amazing moments from Sense and Sensibility and VisionQuest to choose from, but I just really couldn’t stop smiling at the graduation sequence in the latest episode of Best Medicine. Louisa overcame her nerves to give her first speech as principal, Mark got to walk the stage with a diploma after not getting to at his own graduation years ago, Sally finally took off her neck brace…there were a lot of heart-warming character moments going on. I was cheering for all of them.
Ship of the Week

Raquel: Usually, I’d go with Brellen from STARZ’s Blood of My Blood. But this week, I’m going with Henry and… Arch Bug! I can’t quite explain it, but the begrudging respect we saw between them in Blood of My Blood Season 2, Episode 5—AKA the best episode ever! You have to watch it!—made me incredibly emotional.
Lizzie: It was a bumpy week for Stellaride on Chicago Fire, but I think that’s why I’m giving it to them. Adjusting to Severide as Captain was always going to be a little bit of a struggle, but after a bumpy convo or two, the two rallied. Stella realized she had to give Kelly grace, because things were different. Kelly realized he needs to communicate with his wife about how things are different. And in the end, they once again committed to figuring things out together. Just what we wanted.
Jennifer: Waiting for the return of Sheriff Country was like torture after Season 1 ended with Mickey realizing she has feelings for Boone. Last week Mickey drunkenly confessed that she was wrong to turn Boone down. He didn’t reply or ask for more of an answer. Boone knew it wouldn’t be the time for a conversation if she wasn’t sober.
So, all he did was hold her hand and encourage her to rest now that he brought her home. Which just proved how much she matters to him if he’s willing to brush off the words he wanted to hear if Mickey doesn’t remember she confessed to him.
That’s just how much he respects her. Now, he took on Punch’s case just to lift the burden from Mickey’s back as she helped Eva, Wes, and the DEA. The episode ended with Mickey asking him for help finding the missing girls and he gladly accepted. We just love how much they trust and care about each other.
Rachel: Elinor and Edward in the new film version of Sense and Sensibility! When a Jane Austen couple pops up, they will always get my vote in this category. Austen’s love stories are special. This adaptation looks gorgeous, and the script for it also shifts the overall tone more toward drama than comedy, which means the end result feels different from other iterations of the same story. Daisy Edgar-Jones and George MacKay have good chemistry, too. I was swooning at the final scene!
Best Performance of the Week

Lizzie: Gonna give this to LaRoyce Hawkins in his last episode as Kevin Atwater on Chicago P.D.. I’m actually really happy with the storyline he got, even if I’m not particularly happy he’s gone. Long-running shows are hard, because you have had years to get invested and then they take characters from you. But Kevin got a beautiful ending, one fitting the character. And LaRoyce got a final chance to show why so many people loved Kevin. That’s better than a lot of other characters.
Ashley W.: I was really impressed with Ruaridh Mollica’s performance as Tommy in the VisionQuest premiere episodes. He did such a great job at showing how his confusion with what is and isn’t his life can become so overwhelming that it puts him in a state of anguish.
Rachel: I think I have to go with Abigail Spencer on this week’s Best Medicine. The moment when Louisa found out her IVF treatment didn’t work and she wasn’t pregnant on her own was heart-wrenching because of Spencer’s work. Then later, she also gave an uplifting speech for her school’s graduation day. This was an incredible episode for her character and a standout performance from Spencer.
Jasmine: I’m going with David Ajala who plays Walker on Law and Order Season 26, Episode 2. His reaction to learning that Vince had died was so good. I could feel his shock and disbelief as he stood in that hospital. His reaction was exactly how I felt. I could not believe that Vince was killed. That caught me off guard. And I think that’s exactly what Dick Wolf wanted. For the audience to be just as stunned as Walker.
Moment that Annoyed Us This Week

Lizzie: The entirety of Love is Blind Boston could go here, but there was one moment, like twenty seconds into the first episode, where Morrey asked the group of guys: Who had the better comeback, Jesus or the New England Patriots. That was when I knew this season was going to be a complete disaster.
Jennifer: Although Mickey shut down their bickering quickly, Eva and Wes didn’t hesitate to rile each other up in “Family Trust”. She had just made it clear that they would only focus on the drug trafficking case and here they go trying to take jabs at each other for how good they lie to each other.
Mickey was exhausted in that trailer and she didn’t need her parents’ petty arguments when saving girls from danger is all she cared about. There’s girls missing so there’s no time to bring up old wounds. While we’re glad Mickey shut them down, we were annoyed by how Wes and Eva were trying to one up each other in who was the worst person in their family. They’re both kind of bad people.
Ashley W.: I didn’t really care for Dr. Frost and Naomi one way or the other, but after rushing to make them a thing last season on Chicago Med, the explanation for their breakup feels so lazy. Naomi got a fellowship in Portland, and that’s it? I’m all for her leaving Gaffney, considering everything she had gone through there, so she can have a fresh start, and I’m all for her pursuing opportunities. But was there really not anything better they could come up with?
Jasmine: Just everything about Chloe on 90 Day: Hunt for Love Season 2. She’s always talking about things that “Give her the ick” and I’m honestly like, then why are you even on this show? Like she doesn’t want a guy to “court her.” She doesn’t want to go on dates. Sooooo she must just want to be on TV for more exposure. I don’t remember her being this annoying on her season of 90 Day Fiance: The Other Way.
