We watch a lot of TV and movies! So yeah, we’re fangirling over a lot of things! Each week we come together to highlight all the feels they give us throughout the week. On these Fangirlish Feels of the Week, there are five categories and many thoughts! Ready?
Here we go!
Best Scene of the Week

Ashley W.: The Lanterns season finale had so many great scenes, but I wanted to highlight John Stewart and Noah Macon’s conversation in the car. I really enjoyed how John presented himself as a parallel of sorts to Noah and his ongoing identity crisis. The scene was emotional, heavy, and honest in a way that made you feel concerned for Noah but still worried for John. The suspense it built up carried on throughout the rest of the episode and made it the fantastic finale it became.
Jasmine: Carrie using her powers to break Chris’s nose in Carrie Episode 1×05. I know, I know I’m terrible for this but Chris had it coming. She was tormenting Carrie everyday. Then she said something nasty about her father’s death. To think she could just keep messing with Carrie and she wouldn’t retaliate was dumb on her part.
Miah: Best Medicine’s, Dr. Best participating in the crate race of Port Wenn was such a hilariously heartwarming scene. Martin confronts his fears and also makes huge strides (pun intended) to integrate into the town. It solidifies that he was trying, in his subtle ways, and also proves that his Boston friend can go back because he is not.
Ship of the Week

Raquel: As always, for me, it’s Brellen! I loved seeing how happy they are about the baby on the way in Blood of My Blood Season 2 Episode 4. It’s their hope for the future—and ours.
Ashley W.: Purely for their final moment together, John and the Hal-ogram need to be recognized. That last scene with them both made me CRY, and it was such a perfect way to encapsulate their collective story. Their dynamic will truly be missed!
Miah: Kayce and Andrea from Marshals. The way Andrea knew something was wrong when she went to say her second goodbye to Kayce. It’s the way they tease but support each other, and the genuine grace they have for each other.
Best Performance of the Week

Raquel: Tony Curran and Jamie Roy in STARZ’s Blood of My Blood Season 2 Episode 4. I was dying to see the confrontation between Lovat and Brian without any masks getting in the way. And they didn’t disappoint at all.
Shana: Let’s just say welcome back, Mariska Hargitay.
Jasmine: I’m with Shana on this one. Olivia’s frustration over rapists getting away with their crimes was so real. When she said that nothing has changed in 30 years I felt that. That anger was real. And it’s something so many women feel and in that moment Mariska was speaking for all of us.
Miah: Tracy Spriridakos in Anna Pigeon’s Season Finale. Anna’s final confrontation with Jeremiah Paulson was such an emotional moment. Tracy’s acting shows her characters’ emotions as she navigates her nightmares of both past and present. The final confrontation allows her to find clarity on all fronts, and the performance is what conveys those emotions, especially her body language.
Moment that Annoyed Us This Week

Shana: I’m still not over them sending Ciara home on Dancing with the Stars. I may have started off my reaction to the episode by being super critical of her jazz because that’s a style I know well, but I was still very much WTF when the elimination happened. If anything, I’m even more annoyed the more I think about it.
Ashley W.: In the Chicago Med season 12 premiere, Dexter’s mom annoyed me every time she showed up. But I was especially irritated when she kept acting like she had any say in what would happen with his and his fiancée Tamar’s unborn baby—that the mom had the audacity to tell Dexter about despite Tamar saying she wanted to tell him! She would not let him have his own agency and kept trying to control and manipulate him, which came off as even more frustrating given the looming dread and tragedy of the shooting that happened at his wedding.
Jasmine: Margaret trying to overtake the mediation in Carrie Episode 1×06. Carrie was the one going through all of the bullying so her voice was the one that mattered most. Unfortunately, Margaret felt she needed to make all the decisions. And that only made things worse.
Quote of the Week

Shana: “The law is garbage.” – Detective Griffin after Captain Benson explained the victim being heavily drunk wasn’t enugh to prove rape, unless she was “physically helpless or given an intoxicating substance without consent” in the SVU Season 28 premiere.
Ashley W.: “Really gotta start watching men’s sports.” – Jacob Hill in Abbott Elementary season 6, episode 1: “Jungle Classroom.”
Jasmine: “That is the problem—is that nothing has changed. We’re 30 years in, and a jury gets to decide that if a woman drinks too much, then she deserves to be raped.” – Olivia Benson in Law and Order: SVU Season 28, Episode 1.
Miah: “I saw her again in homeroom. And she was f***ed. I could tell right away, because she was kind. Not performative kind. Not bullshit kind. No agenda to it. She was just kind. Why was that so alien? What the f**k is wrong with us?” – Sue in Carrie Season 1, Episode 8.
