Yes, I know, this is new. I admit that I wasn’t sure The Traitors: New Blood could grab me as much as the celebrity version of the show. But somewhere in between Joe and Tomica recruiting Katie and Fruitgate, I admit I was hooked. In fact, I was hooked enough that I’ve reached the point where I’m starting to reconsider my decision to watch this weekly. Pressing play on the next episode right away is a power I wish I had right now.
To be clear, The Traitors: New Blood has been messy. But messy in a way that I still felt like Joe, Tomica, and Katie were cruising. We’ve reached the point of the game where things can change on a dime, though. And boy, did they in Episode 7. Because even if Victor isn’t banished, this game has already gotten complicated for the Traitors.
Let’s start with Victor. The problem is that when everyone is as paranoid as this game makes you, Victor’s certainty isn’t that convincing, especially considering how he’s behaved before. I get it, I probably wouldn’t have trusted him, mostly because he hadn’t done anything to make me like him. And that’s the way this show works. You trust the people you like, and sometimes you die by it. Ask Maura.

The second is that there are no strong alliances outside of the secret alliance between the traitors. That means the last roundtable just saw a bunch of people voting for whoever they woke up that day thinking could be a traitor, without any sort of plan. If we’ve learned something in this show is that you need strategy.
Of course, Alan threw a curveball at everyone at the end of “It’s Like Fighting Two Pigs Under a Blanket” that might just change the game. Who won the ultimate power to save Victor? And will it actually be someone who saves Victor? It cannot be Katie, so at least the issues between Tomica and Katie will have to be hashed out later. It’s unlikely to be Joe. But who else? It can’t be Wyatt either, and that’s Victor’s closest ally.
So smart money is on Victor leaving, especially if you can save that power and use it for another roundtable. I wouldn’t waste it on Victor, because again, no one trusts Victor!

But the bigger issue is what happened between Tomica and Katie. Tomica told Victor that she thought Katie was a traitor. Whether she truly didn’t mean to say her name, the fact is that she did, and that made Katie vote for her. They will both go to the turret and have to talk it out later, but it is the first sign of real issues between the traitors. And hey, that makes for a more interesting game.
My prediction: Victor is still banished, and Tomica and Katie make up after Tomica explains. Katie might still be a little wary, but if they can patch things up, the fact that Katie voted against Tomica can work in the traitors’ favor. We shall see. I still think this game will be won by the traitors, because I don’t see how these people can catch all 3. They can’t even catch one.
