This prequel to Game of Thrones follows the fall of the Targaryen dynasty, almost 200 years before the events of the HBO drama that introduced us to Westeros. In House of the Dragon the Targaryens still rule and so do the dragons, but the civil war known as the Dance of the Dragons, which will decimate the Targaryens and almost put an end to the dragons is coming—and there’s nothing anyone can do to stop it.

House of the Dragon Season 3, Episode 8 Review: We’re in the Endgame Now

House of the Dragon Season 3, Episode 8 takes us way past the point of no return, this time for real. The show has made it feel a couple of times like this tale has reached a point where no…

House of the Dragon Season 3, Episode 7 Review: Time For Betrayal

House of the Dragon Season 3, Episode 7 brings us the least surprising twist in this franchise’s history, with the betrayal of Ulf the White, which the show had been telegraphing for a while. It also brings back Sunfyre, who…

House of the Dragon Season 3, Episode 6 Review: See Ya, Wouldn’t Wanna Be Ya

House of the Dragon Season 3, Episode 6 “Faceless Men” moves away from the setup and delivers not just one of the biggest deaths in the show so far—but also betrayal anyone could have seen coming, and a cliffhanger that…

House of the Dragon Season 3, Episode 5 Review: The Prelude to the End

House of the Dragon Season 3, Episode 5 is entertaining, even if it mostly feels like we’re still setting up things. The first two episodes of the season gave us big moments, and since then, the season has more or…

House of the Dragon Season 3, Episode 4 Review: We’ve Got Ourselves a Villain

House of the Dragon Season 3, Episode 4 “Tumbleton” is a showcase for James Norton’s Ormund Hightower, as the pieces of the puzzle start falling into place. It’s still mostly setup, but now the setup seems to be leading somewhere…

Matt Smith’s Best Role Isn’t Daemon Targaryen on House of the Dragon

Matt Smith is a chaotic little shit as Damon Targaryen on House of the Dragon. It’s interesting watching what fuels him, how he inspires loyalty in others, and how charismatic he is. There’s also the ship with his niece/wife. There’s…

House of the Dragon Season 3, Episode 3 Review: A Masterful Hour Full of Politics (But Where’s the Consistency?)

House of the Dragon Season 3, Episode 3 is, in many ways, a brilliant episode. The hour switches its focus from war to governing and examines the challenges Rhaenyra must face as Queen. From rats everywhere, to allies that don’t seem all that loyal, without forgetting the fact that there’s no money to do anything—not…

House of the Dragon Season 3, Episode 2 Review: Satisfaction Finally Arrives for Team Black

House of the Dragon Season 3, Episode 2 might just be the best episode of this show so far. And it’s not just because satisfaction finally comes for Team Black, though the scene of Rhaenyra and Daemon cutting through foes…

The Calm App is Bringing ‘House of the Dragon’ To You

The Calm app is like that friend you don’t want to admit you’re actually very close to, but that sometimes saves your day. But hey, in 2026, we should all be shedding societal expectations telling us that things like the…

The Best Reactions to the House of the Dragon Season 3, Episode 1

One of our favorite things about House of the Dragon is, without a doubt, the internet’s reaction to everything that happens in House of the Dragon. And though the first episode of Season 3 was a mixed bag, with a…
