If there’s one Young Adult book to film that I’m most anticipating it’s by far FOX’s The Darkest Minds, which center around some strong, young protagonists that are literally fighting for their lives in a dark dystopian world.
Thus far casting for The Darkest Minds has landed names like Amandla Stenberg (as lead protagonist Ruby) and Mandy Moore (as one of the antagonists Cate.) The latest casting focuses on one of the villainous forces in the story.
Deadline reports that Patrick Gibson has been cast as Clancy, who is described as “the handsome and slightly narcissistic Clancy Gray, the president’s son and poster boy for rehabilitation whose portrait is displayed all over the camp. He possesses a certain power that can manipulate people’s minds and he uses that to convince those around him that he’s been healed.”
Gibson joins a cast that includes the aforementioned Stenberg and Moore, as well as Harris Dickinson, Miya Cech, and Skylan Brooks.
The Darkest Minds has not yet begun production and does not yet have a release date.
